Just days after winning the NFC Offense Player of the Week award, Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston has been voted the Fedex Air Player of the Week for his effort in Atlanta, the team announced Thursday.

Winston on Wednesday called the recognition of his Week 1 performance – a 281-yard, four-TD game that saw him complete 23 of 32 passes – a “team thing.” But the league will continue to highlight the second-year quarterback.
Winston, who’s currently tied for the league lead in touchdown passes, is the first player in franchise history to win both NFC Player and FedEx Air Player of the Week in the same week. This is his second time winning the latter honor – he won for his Week 11, five-TD effort in Philly last year – tying him with Josh Freeman for most “FedEx Air” wins in Bucs’ history.
In just 17 games, Winston is one of only four Tampa Bay quarterbacks to have multiple four-TD games, along with Brad Johnson, Steve DeBerg and Doug Williams. To put that in perspective, it took Johnson 49 games, DeBerg 64 and Williams 65, per the Bucs’ communications department.

Winston is correct that it is a “team thing.”
3 of those TD passes were excellent catches. As an original Buc Fan, I’m not sure I have ever seen 3 excellent TD receptions in a season.
