I hope Jones has been released by the team already.

I agree, get rid of Mark Jones now.

Jones should have never made the team out of camp IMO.  He is as 1-dimensional as you can get.  If he were contributing in other facets of the game it would be different, but he isn't.  IMO he is a waste of roster space.

Yours, and many of us other posters.

A 8 yard per return, no threat at all to score, no depth providing waste of space, if I may garnish your response a bit.

There were some of you Mark Jones supporters out there.  Don't lie now...lol!

I was a supporter of Jones and in a way I still am.  Cutting him and letting Timmy Brown return punts was huge blunder.  What Jones brings is consistency as there is nothing flashy about him.  With that said Buchanon has the ability to take it the distance and teams have to respect him.

Ike was decent this past Sunday returning punts but he was not flashy either.  I do not want to see Ike returning punts nor Galloway who is a starter.   Buchanon can immediatley help with the punt returns.

With that said ADW, do you think bringing no flash and consistency is worth burning a roster spot on?  Or do you think Ike could have done just as well?  I mean, the diff between Ike and Jones is very, very miniaml to say the least.  And Ike has good hands.  And, he can play a wideout spot.  Jones was a total waste.  I would rather see Fonoti in the lineup, playing T.E. on fourth and 1...

I was chatting with a fan at the game a couple of weeks or so ago and commented about having Hovan and Fonoti in the backfield with Alstott on the goal line.  Talk about some beef....LOL.

With 2-ton gone, it is moot, but fun to visualize.

He was worth it when there was no other option (And no Ike is not an option).  Now that there is an option Jones does not serve a purpose.  With that said Buchanon in a way is in the same boat. I do not see him turning it around and being a serviceable cornerback for this defensive system.  He too is a one dimensional player as he is strictly a special teams guy except he is an explosive returner.

ADW

With that said (both are 1-dimesional), I still prefer P.B. over Jones.  Jones has simply done little to nothing to impress.

He has some starts at CB, and if the Bucs get that notion, you might see him out there.  Although I shudder at the thought, as most of us do.  Now, if Mark Jones were to be placed in the lineup at wideout, the Bucs could count on having a lot of runs that game.  Buchanon is a former first round, number 17Th pick overall, who played cornerback for years.  Mark Jones brings nothing to the table.  Buchanon brings some chips at least.  He brings speed, and some experience as a first string cover man, albeit a poor one.  But he can be used as a cornerback, FWIW.

Jones never had a chance as a wideout.  Ever.

Buchanon can no tackle. The Texans who need help on defense cut him and they run the same scheme the Bucs run.  They already have plenty of return specialists on the team and he became expendable.

I strongly disagree with you.  This guy is good in coverage but he is not good at tackling.  I would be dissapointed in the coaching staff I see him out there playing corner.
