I disagree on your Soundgarden take, however, I do like Mice and Gods by Clutch.

The song you posted I have heard before, good tune, but doesn't really make me want to go out and pick up a cd or anything.

they are ok.  they never really hit it big but had great influence on bands that did with their grunge/drone sound.  king Buzzo is pretty badass.

Kurt Cobain use to be a Melvin groupie always trying to hang around the band.  They even let him audition for their open bassist position once but he didn't get it.  They do their own thing and have been able to do it for 20 plus years.  Definately not mainstream but bands from Nirvana to Queens Of The Stoneage to Tool certainly appreciate their contributions to music.

Nirvana was also heavily influenced by the Meat Puppets...  After Nirvana did unplugged, I bought a Meat Puppets cd, and hated it.
