According to a Cowboy's fan friend of mine, the Dallas Cowboys' site is saying that backup C Al Johnson has a visit arranged in Tampa today.

He was a second round pick in 2003 out of WI, and lost a 2 year starting job when Andre Gurode was moved to make way for Marco Rivera at G. Parcells' supposedly liked the guy, but was frustrated with his inability to "bulk up."

The Bucs staff apparently views Sean Mahan as the OC of the future here and they're working to re-sign him. Johnson may be considered an alternative, or a potential competitor for the position.

It's pretty clear now that we need new staff people then.

Why? Despite his struggles at G, Mahan played well at OC and did an excellent job making the line calls.

My bad - I thought my friend said it was on the official site, not DMN. Anyway, that's the info I read as well.

Exactly. As I said above, they're working to re-sign him. Johnson may be an alternative if they can't get it done.

Al ain't very good BTW from having seen him up close. He's not a starter. He's a depth level player.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.
