From rotoworld

Bucs signed DE Patrick Chukwurah to a five-year, $5.5 million contract.

This likely means Dewayne White won't be back, and could land in Detroit with former line coach Rod Marinelli. Chukwurah, who had five sacks last year but is mostly a special teamer, gives the Bucs another undersized defensive end. Their LBs and safeties must tackle better this season.

This guy is for depth and shouldn't have any bearing on what we do with White.

I would imagine ST and situational pass-rushing DE

If this is true sweet. Bringing in Larry Coyer landed us a solid DE to push Spires.

It's official ! Now that's what the F I'm talking about...5 years for 5 mil... we get a special teams ace who can be a back-up DE / LB and situational pass rusher. "I like"

Yeah, at 6'1" 250lbs he is not a full time defensive end and is not athletic enough to play LB full time.  This is a depth/special teams signing.

"Ronald Slavin, his representative, said the Bucs plan to use Chukwurah as "a third-down pass rusher and a special teams leader." "

Not a bad deal for the Bucs it looks like.

It'd be nice if the Bucs sill resign White though. The Crane is not a great pass rusher and still needs a replacement.
