The Jets made it official today and released QB Patrick Ramsey. He was a former first round pick of the Redskins has a cannon for an arm could he compete with Simms for the right to start?

Would come for far less then Garcia and would not have to give up a draft pick for him low salary with some coaching i think he could push Simms.

Ramsey has been in the league for 5 years

Karen, do you dislike everyone and everything or are you just a negative person?

I guess you would rather have them draft Chris Leak and let him start here

No, not really.  Why is there such a search for released retreads instead of an effort to fix the o-line & adjust the god-awful, all holy, bloody freaking awful WCO (sound of angels) to work with the talent we have? Gruden's search for the perfect qb is like the search for the holy grail----fruitless!

This may come to a shock to some of you but the reality is that there is no Drew Brees out there this year.

We have three choices for next year for QB...
1. Chris Simms and Gradkowski again
2. Sign someone like Garcia
3. Draft Russell or Quinn

It's that simple.

And the Chris Leak remark made me think of something.  While I don't think Leak will do much in the NFL, he's a perfect example of how a coach (Urban Meyer) can change & adjust his offense to fit the talent of the qb he has & turn him into a national champion.

I'm just glad there's another QB option in the pool.

well, it might drive the price of Garcia down a bit knowing that the Bucs could also go after Ramsey if Garcia's price is to high

No she just likes mediocre QB's who are 6-11. And wants no competition for such medocrity-- cause she has a big crsuh on Simms and Iam said it was okay.

How exactly did he change his offense?

He has said he totally readjusted his offense from even his 1st year when he lost 3 games.  He took apart the spread offense & gave Leak more protection. I don't know all the particulars but he has talked about it quite a bit.

I have said for a while that Ramsey may end up being a serious option the Bucs have to consider (especially with the way events are progressing).
