Texans wouldnt trade with Broncs  so bucs traded for him, this could be part of a three way trade, I know that Jake got on a plane this morning for here, but i dont know what him and grud talked about ill keep you posted when i talk to "Jake"

Now the Bucs have ALL the leverage. ALL OF IT.

They have the top QB in FA. They have a QB they wanted to trade for, OR: they recover his signing bonus if Plummer retires, or they can trade him to Houston for David Carr, if Kubiak wants to make that deal. How about Garcia/Carr/Simms as the Bucs QB lineup?

Not only this, but if the BUcs decide to unload Simms, they could do so to a team that covets a deep ball passer in Simms, and they could swap spots and the Bucs could land JT, whom they really need to make this offense more complete...

But last night i talked to him he said he was makin a trip and when everyone was saying he officially retired i told you he never turned in the papers didnt i? Yes.  He came this morning was on a 4 am flight and got here i dont know when Gru and him spoke i just knew that he came and talked. I aint up to date cause its hard gettin ahold of him right now, agents and newspapers are callin him like crazy.

I never saw him post anything about Plummer flying to Tampa before the announcement of the trade by Denver. If he DID, then I apologize for suggesting that he's making it up.

This is awsome. GOOOOO Bruce. YAAAA. oh man do you all know what this means. The Bucs have some leverage. The Bucs Just got the rights to 2 out of the 3 qualified NFL staring QB in the off season. Now what will Oakland do? What will Houston do? The Bucs Have the rights to both QB for at what cost to the Bucs. Now this may force Oakland to pick 1st overall and take a QB. It also might force Houston to trade up in the draft to get Quinn. This might force Houston to deal with the Bucs to get Plummer. We just might get another 2nd round draft pick this year

I don't think so. IIRC, Denver is still on the hook for Plummer's prorated signing bonus and the Bucs would be responsible for his base salaries. The only way we could recoup the SB money is if we negotiated a new deal.

I also just read on ESPN News that the conditional 2008 pick is based on whether Plummer reports or not. It's a win-win IMO. We keep all of our pick this year, if Plummer reports we have quite a stable at QB, we also have many trade options. If he retires we lose nothing.
