He's really praising the coaching staff and the veteran players in Tampa but I didn't expect he to speak ill of them lol.

The main thing that he said was that he was looking forward to be given the chance to "compete" for the starting job.  He had to stop himself. He was about to say "be the Bucs quarterback" but he paused and then emphasized the word compete as if it had been emphasized to him that he is not officially being given the starting job.  What the unofficial story is is harder to tell.

He said the reason he chose Tampa Bay over Oakland was because of the chance to win now because of the veterans who know how to prepare etc.

Liked the fact he said he was giving up returning to his home to play in Tampa because it offered a better opportunity to win now. It's what he's said all along he wanted. If he brings that attitude into the huddle that he showed in the press conference, this is a major step up.

I think the conversation when like this:

"Yeah Jeff, we can't guarantee you the starting job, you'll have to 'compete' for it"
"who's my competition?"
"Chris Simms"
muffled laughter  "ok, where do I sign?"
