I see it.  I still don't believe it.  It's gotta be a typo, doesn't it?  ESPN's reporting of it is calling it a steal for New England for only giving up a 2nd rounder for Welker.  Are these people insane?  This is a case of a guy being underrated for so long that he's become asininely overrated!

Hester Fever? I once got a bad case of that when traveling in South America. My colon wasn't right for two weeks.

This guy's scored once in three seasons on returns!  He is nothing like Devin Hester.

while it shouldn't be too surprising wes welker got a sweet deal (considering the weak receiver free agent pool) I sincerely doubt welker has a guaranteed contract worth as much as adalius' guaranteed contract. if adalius has a half decent agent he should be making more franklins than every other player on the market.

although new england giving up a second round pick for welker should sound a warning for anyone hoping calvin johnson is available at #4. if pats are willing to give up a second round pick for an average receiver what would other teams be willing to give up for the player everyone considers to be the #1 prospect?

Yow!

If the info posted online is correct, Thomas gets 8 years, $37.5 million and Welker gets 7 years, $38.5 million.

oh hell no if I was Thomas I would be pissed and it seems like now the Patriots want to spend money on people unlike the last couple of years wowowow

The Pats had to offer him a sweet deal because they didn't want Miami to match it.  Chances are that $10M is all he is going to see on this contract and he'll be asked to restructure inside of two years.

Well, let these teams overspend now.  I think Gruden/Allen saw this coming and they will do a good job managing the cap, so we can go after the top of the class next year.  Obviously, I talking about big Defensive players or a big-time lineman that could really make a difference.

Adalius Thomas' deal was for 5 years...that being said, I still find it shocking that the Pats are willing to give Welker that much cash and dump their 2nd round pick!
