Good question, but it will be hard to know because we don't know the cap values of B.J. or Garcia.

PewterReport.com is reporting that the Bucs have just under $20 million worth of salary cap as of Saturday evening.

WOW. Even after picking up both Garcia's AND Plummer's contracts? That's outstanding. We can still trim some fat like Phillips, once we sign a better SS.

If Quarles retires, that's an extra $3 million to use on Petitgout and Harris. We'd still have near $20 million and two new pieces.

Oh man.  And we've added 4 guys.  That's not bad.  Even if Plummer doesn't sign, we have 3 guys that will all see the field next year, barring injury.  We need to save some of that cash though.  Remember that we have to sign the 4th overall pick, and it will be Calvin Johnson.  Hopefully, there's no holdout.

They are not allocating Plummer anything.  The trade will be nullified because he filed his retirement papers first.  Even if the trade stands the Buccs can cut him if he decides to re-activate his contract.

In that case doesn't his salary still count vs. the cap?
