He just doesn't want to be tagged.  I don't blame him because it would be one thing if there was a one year limit on the tag, but there isn't. The Bears can keep tagging him year after year.  He might as well put up a stink about it now and get it over with.

Maybe he will hold out, and we can steal him for a mid 2008 draft choice at the trade deadline.

I think the Bears had the intention of trading him anyways becuase they need to lock up Harris.

to be honest, since hearing his contract demands (which will only have increased with the ridiculous nate clements deal) i've really cooled on the idea of signing him....

I would like to have him, but not for the high price tag

you can't sign a player of his caliber, in his prime, for a low price tag.

It sounds like briggs is pretty perturbed with Chicago. He wants a long term deal, and the Bears haven't even been negotiating with him. He said he doesn't want to play another game there under the franchise tag. But i would probably think if they offer him a good enough deal he would take it.
What are the chances we trade for him? Maybe send a QB over? But how do you trade for a franchised player, trade for his rights then negotiate a contract w/ him?

He's going to make $7.2M this year. If the Bears tag him again next year it's $8.64M. Am I suppose to feel bad for him?

If he was a free agent, he'd have $20mil+ right now.

I want him. He's sick and DB just doesnt cut it at WLB any more. Briggs could be our WLB for the next 6/7 years.
