Are you not aware of the sumpreme irony of comparing a bill which aims to give health cover to the 10-15% of your country who don't have it, and comparing the main proponent of that bill, Obama to Nazis and the Gestapo and the like?

To be opposed to the bill is a very right wing view. Now....what was being a Nazi...left or right? Hmmmm.

Give your heads a friggin' wobble, yes if you're young and healthy it doesn't make a massive amount of sense. By that rationale anyone living in a nice big house in a nice area should not have home insurance coz they'll never get robbed, right?

Point is, you never know. I'm going to tell you a story, a young minor celebrity here called Jade was a young healthy 26 year old with about $4million in the bank from various TV things she'd done. Aged 27 she found out she had cervical cancer, by 28 she was dead. Her kids can look forward to that money when they turn 18 because of the National Health Service. If she'd have been ill in the US and uninsured because she was "young and healthy" and decided it was her right her kids would have been lucky to have had enough left over to have bought a beer when they come of age.

It also forced and will fine people who can't afford it, how is that right? If they can't afford it now, how will they be able to pay a 700 dollar fine for not having it. Or even worse, face jail time. Point is, im not paying for some idiot to have health care who isn't working.

NAZI were the National SOZIALIST Party. They perceived themselves as center-right, socialists.

They were very progressive - they had a social justice platform and earned about 30% of the popular vote...but through an interesting turn of events from the previous economic meltdown of the Wiemar Republic and WWI debts Germany suddenly found themselves bankrupt and heavily indebted.

The NAZI's cobbled together a coalition of the power-brokers who thought the young Hitler could be easily controlled - only finding out later they were riding on the nose of the tiger - not the other way 'round.

The NAZI's consolidated power, nationalized corporate debt, while privatizing profits. Spent huge money on social programs to buy legitimacy and then once they attained power turned on their own people.

They praised and patterned many aims after Nietzsche's philosophy - who was god-less - and whose "uber-mensch" (superman) was justified to do anything he wanted for the greater good.

They sought to control the means of production, ultimately did so, making industry subject to the government. And workers subject to companies.

They granted monopolies to certain companies - subsidizing their losses with the peoples money - then destroyed the any who dared to compete with the preferred government corporations. To ensure loyalty, Hitler installed his military officers on the boards of these monopolies - and soon there were none to compete with them.

They even had plans to build this funny little car Volkswagen (Volk=people, wagen=car) so cheaply that everyone could afford one - with some government assistance (subsidies) of course. Unfortunately in Germany the public was more important than the individual - so they started building tanks in the same manufacturing plants that the funny cars were supposed to be made.

The NAZI party first had all gun owners register their guns, but later, they confiscated them (of course by this time they were very easy to find - they just followed the registration forms) - soon the people had no means to resist a runaway government

The NAZI's - by now simply called "the state", bought up the media, shut-down dissent, while also making the trains run on time.

Almost everyone depended on the government for healthcare and jobs.

It took them some time, they moved slowly at first. They came to power in 1933 - they ruled unitl 1945 - but most of the changes were in place by 1939 (6 years).

Why do you think the government took over healthcare - when by even your estimates of the uninsured - 85% of America was insured and only felt health insurance cost too much?

The government lied.

They took over the one thing that everyone needs in order to control them - now they own the companies that make your cars, they own most of the media, they own the financial sector, and they even own most of the foreclosed homes...your healthcare and your student loans.

but they promise to run your healthcare as efficiently and as cost effectively as the Post Office and the DMV...

As I demonstrated with my previous post in this nutbrain of a thread - governments that own everything - are too powerful and history tells us that powerful governments ALWAYS turn on their own people.

You're foolish to trade your rights for health and security - and as Ben Franklin said - you deserve neither.

And you will end up without either.

Two bogus facts.

1. Nazi's were facists. Facism is where business remains in private ownership but the Govt controls (dictates) what you can and cannot do with it and how they run it. Sound familiar?

2. Your cervical cancer victim. With $4 million in the bank I am going to take an educated guess and say she would be in a position to afford health insurance. Even then the Govt would have taken half of it from her family when she died.

Yeah but sadly to cover that 10-15% they have to control how the other 90% of us get health care, what we pay and how we can chose to cover our families. That would be the problem but then again covering that 10-15% is never the goal, the control over the other 90% IS.

Health care reform was necessary, the 76% of the country who were against this bill agree with that. But Obama and the dems wanted power and control, which is why they closed off the discussion and tried to paint anyone opposed to their socialist agenda as "ani- health care reform". Then they spun it to sound as if the republicans were the party of "no", and didnt want to meet in the middle. Anyone with half a brain can see the dems wanted the republicans to meet them not in the middle but on the far left

Fact is our country is trillions in debt and this only will dig us deeper and deeper. By his logic I guess we should give everone a car, house, food, ipod, I mean it will benefit us right?

I'm all for any bill that IMPROVES Healthcare.

I am against any bill that does not improve HC but will cost trillions just to make things worse.
