His opening rant was ok. Had issues with Plummer but liked Garcia.

I never listen to him any more but today will be fun. I may call in later
when I'm resting on the beach. If you hear waves and it's Joe calling,
then you know it's me.

He just mentioned this thread.

So far, I agree with everything he has said about the Garcia/Plummer thing.

I think many of us had a problem with giving up a 4th for Jake. If I call in,
I will have nothing to disagree with on this matter. Still will try.

Seeing that the league hasn't received Plummer's papers yet is interesting.
How long before he mentions that?

His workers are logged into the PR message board.

Yeah, he gave the Jake Plummer trade an F and he gave the Jeff Garcia signing an A.

No thanks. He's an idiot, IMO, who lost all his real football insight when Scot Brantley and he parted ways.

Ft. Myers? I live in LA and will listen online 'til I leave the house. DTG, I agree. But make an
exception just for today. It'll be fun.

How can you not like the Plummer signing?  I mean, you lose a seventh, big deal.  The Bucs own the rights to a QB that was high on the FA radar this year, and no doubt they are trying to get Jake to come back in an effort to trade him.  Maybe PLummer is not trying to screw his boy Kubiak over by trying to pull this crap.  Either way, the Bucs lose a very late draft pick, I could care less.  BUt owning the rights to this guy is awesome.  If not for depth on the roster, then for the proverbial worm on the hook reason...

How dumb can you be to not understand the dynamics of all this being win-win for Tampa fans?

He didn't say he didn't like the Plummer deal as it is now. He said he didn't like the original
attempt to get Jake for a 4th rounder. I didn't like it either.

The problem is that the media reported it as "probably a 4th round pick" but it was never officially announced that way. For all we know the original deal was exactly how it went down.

So how can he give the 'original' trade a grade when it wasn't what "officially" happened?

There are lots of things to like about the Plummer deal.  If you think Bruce is dumb it makes no sense.  But that's not how you react in business when someone pulls a move out of left field like that.  You ask "what does he know that I don't? or What's his Angle?  Questions like that.

Hell, we don't even need to use him to benefit.  Any teams under us that want a new QB that we want to trade down with?  Clearing the market could paint someone into a corner.  Would that be worth a 7th?

It's prolly not that, but the thing is did anyone who complained about the move even think around it that much?  There's clearly something in it for us, we just aren't in on the secret right now...
