His numbers are inflated and he isn't a run stuffer. He is a drag down tackler and is probably a middle of the pack MLB.

Morris wants a MLB to be an alpha dog type leader.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

I like how most on here stated how good Ruud was prior to this past season.  Ruud is a good player, it's RAW MORRIS that made him average last year.

Bring back GRUDEN!!!

He's not a stud, he's a good MLB, but not a stud. Most his tackles are upfield, he's not a blitzer, he doesn't get many tackles behind the line of scrimmage. His stats are very misleading..

If we go with the T2 this year then he is a stud that get deep in coverage, if not then we need to look elsewhere.

Ruud takes too much blame for the horrible DL play. The run defense numbers with Ruud at MLB when Sims starts and when Sims doesn't start are night and day. RBs are coming through huge holes at full throttle and people really can't see why he's making dragging tackles 5 yards deep?

the only reason they havent signed him is because Tampa is spoiled with the vocal leadership that Brooks brought to the team, and they expect Ruud to be the same guy, but they havent seen it from him. Problem is that Ruud isnt that out spoken of a person and he should be paid off of his production and not what the guy before him did.  PAY DA MAN

On the "vocal leader" thing...  The rules changed so that one defender can have a radio in his helmet.  Tampa's one player with that "green dot" helmet is Barrett Ruud.  He can't spend a whole lot of time in "chest bump" mode and listen to the calls coming in from the sideline, IMO...

On the "downfield tackles"...  Of the 141 tackles on defense (one of his credited tackles was on special teams), 26 were from 6 to 9 yards past LOS.  24 were at 10 yards or more.  Doing the math, that means 91 of his tackles were at 5 yards or less.  That includes the 59 tackles at 3 yards or less...

With Piscitelli, Barber, TJax and Hayes all having as many missed tackles as they did, the DTs aren't the only contributors to Ruud's "inflated" numbers...

They found a way to keep him cheap, that is all...
