That's it. Thanks, Java. That guy was a hell of a RB. I remember thinking we had a future PB RB. I didn't remember him being that big though.

Good memory, Java. I use to see Nathan working out in the gym I went to back in the day. He was a good guy.

Nathan Wansley I believe was his name.  He was a rocket and really exciting for a couple of games.   Check www.bucpower.com, I bet Paul has some details on it.

He was a little guy that came on strong towards the end of the great Wilder years. It must have been mid-80's. He had a couple 100 yard games and then hurt his neck and never could make it back. I want to say he had brothers in the NFL also. Does anybody remember what his name was? And if so, what's he doing now?

Thought it might have been Alvin Mitchell out of Venice but it was Nathan Wonsley. Good one!
That kid had it going for a very short period of time before getting hurt. Shows how short a carreer in the NFL can be!

This is Nathan Wansley at the 2005 Masters National Championship for  body building.  I was shocked when I ran across this!

His body looks alot like mine in that picture.

I remember being completely disappointed when he got hurt on that kick return.   I had high hopes for him.

We may have had a lousy team back then but they were pretty good guys. To this day they are some of my favorite all time players. I had forgotten about a lot of them until I was talking to my older brother about how we used to go to all the games and how fun they were. We used to go a lot of times just to see the other team.  I used to love the Bears games with McMahon, Payton and Ditka and I'll never forget the upset over the Bills with Smith and Kelly 10-7! We should start a post talking about some of our favorite players and games in Bucs history pre uniform change!

I thought the same thing, but it was Wansley.  I was googling to find out how his neck injury turned out.  That's him.

No that might not be him.  We did have a Tim Wansley, but the guy were talking about was Nathan Wonsley. I looked the spelling up on the site Java gave me.

I've seen it spelled both ways, Wonsley seems right... but that's him about 3/4 the way down the page.

The correct spelling is with an "o".

Edited to add this picture of him from two months ago:
