PR ALERT: BUCS NEVER PURSUED HOLMES

We better get a big WR here fast or we will not have a chance this year.

The Bucs aren't trying to "have a chance" this year. Why don't people get that? The Bucs are committed to rebuilding and are thinking for the future. Whether or not you agree with their plan is one thing, but just accept that's how it's happening and stop crying. Even if we did acquire Santonio Holmes, do you really think we have a shot to compete in the division with the defending Super Bowl champs and an upcoming Falcons team? Especially considering Holmes wouldn't even play for four games.

If that was the REAL plan, it would be a different story. But that's not really what they are doing. Every move the organization has made over the past half-decade has been to cut costs and cut corners. It has nothing to do with improving the quality of the product.

Would you not agree that the Bucs have one of the worst WR cores in the NFL, maybe even NFL history?  They also have a young QB, as a matter of fact drafted in the same draft as Sanchez and Stafford.  Stafford goes to a team that has Calvin Johnson.  Sanchez gets drafted and they go out and add Edwards and Holmes.

The Bucs gave Freeman Winslow.  But who else?  

Oh yeah, silly me…I forgot they added Reggie Brown to make Freeman take some steps forward.

The Bucs were smart not to go after him. What the crybabies refuse to realize is, he got traded for a 5th round pick for a reason. Teams just don't trade great players for 5th rounders.

Well, let’s stick to the point of the thread.

Regardless of Gruden’s ineptness…(really should mean Bruce Allen) so we’re comparing apples to apples….

But trading a 5th for Holmes would be a good move whoever the GM of the team was….especially considering our current WR core..and supposed Franchise QB.

Only thing that will be acceptable in terms of us not acquiring Holmes is if they are pretty certain that they are getting Marshall…
