I know about NFL, i know the rules, i know how the game is played and i know how the fixtures are done but NBA i don't know nearly enough about. Can someone please give me the gen on leagues, structure of the season, games and so on?

The playoffs are a best of 7 format straight through to the title.

Hockey is better. Watch the NHL before NBA. Stanley Cup Playoffs are super long but so rewarding at the end.
