We were pretty much ready to cut lefty, dom knew he could get something out of him.  Good move no matter what round it is

I thought 2 were compensation picks and we aren't allowed to trade those?

I think we have 5 now.

1 in the 1st
2 in the 2nd
1 in the 3rd
1 in the 4th
1 in the 5th
1 in the 6th
5 in the 7th
----------------
12 picks

And that's why you don't tip your hand. Good move Mark!
huh?  everyone knew he was going to be traded or eventually released.  A 7th is better than nothing I guess but it's damn close to nothing.

In a draft like this, I'm thinking there will be some decent players falling to Rd 7.

If Dominik spent as much time with his staff looking over day 2 and 3 players as he says, the player at 225 will certainly have a greater opportunity to contribute to this team than Lefty would have.

Tip your hand may have not been the best words, I was more aiming for "holding on to him". As reference to people here wondering why he wasn't cut 2 months ago.

We have 5 7th round picks. Amazing.

And in an Ultra DEEP draft that's kind of like having 3 sixth rounders (since the supp picks are soo far down)...Doms, well played trade to get any pick for a guy who was basically a lame duck with 0% chance of making the team.

Also, it means the Bucs gotta get another QB. Bulger is coming to Tampa.

They are supposedly happy with Rudy Carpenter as the 3rd QB - which is fine with me as well.  Hopefully the 3rd QB never even dresses.

Excellent news! I'm very glad Leftwich is gone and I'm also perfectly fine with just Freeman, Johnson, and Carpenter.

God if that happens...well...we all know what happens.

I know I would be heading for the lifepreserver.

I'm sure they are, now what happens if Freeman gets hurt...and please don't tell me the Josh Johnson experience returns to town. Can we just got to the wishbone with him at QB and save us all the pain?

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

I really don't want JJ as a #2.  Not that Leftwich was the answer either.  But I would prefer a vet.
