Passive or Aggressive

It was an observation not a comparison.   

Grads's passing was a littel off last week, but there was only one oass that should have been intercepted.  The other two were marginal.  Palmer is meant to be one of the best QBs in the NFL and he threw three balls at our DBs as well.  All QBs throw high risk passes, and sometimes they get lucky.

The real key is four times in the last two games Grads has been in the redzone and converted tight passes for TDs, five if you count the Stovall effort.  He is going to make mistakes, and he doesn't have Chris Simms's arm strength, but all in all he looks a far better fit in Grudens O.

I think you guys are seriously overestimating the difference in the number of 3 steps.  There heve been plenty of plays that are called 3 steps, but Grads moves around a bit so it doesn't look like the quick 3.  It's the primary play call for this O and it hasn't changed.  You DO see more 5-7 steps, but it's not a increase in the proportion that are called, it's just that now that Chris "3 and out" Simms isn't back there, there are more plays overall called.  You can also call more low percentage (i.e. longer) passes when you have at least SOME belief that your team can get a first down still if you don't connect.  Some guys just can't deal with just how God-Awful BAD Simms was this year.  The line isn't suddenly playing better, they were ok whe he was back there too.  It's not hatred of batman that caused Jon to mention how the biggest help to the run game was the improved passing.  It wasn't bad play-calling designed to make Simms fail.  Grads isn't playing like the second coming, but even Kyle Orton would have been an improvement over Simm's play this year.
Look at the difference in the rhythm if the O.  Were moving it consistently now.  With Batman back there it was like:

Maybe Gruden kept doing the 3 step to give Simms a chance to figure out how to make it work...maybe that was confidence.  You can spin this thing anyway you want.  Gruden doesn not lose games to get a new QB.  All he has to say is. "New QB saddle up".  He isn't afraid to do that any more than you are to tell your dog to sit...no comparisons to be drawn please.  Give me a break!!!
