Will Stroughter and Miller become starters? Most likely, yes.

If they were so sold on Miller, why take 2 additional DTs with your first 2 picks when you have ZERO defensive ends?

Miller is a backup.   Stroughter is not a #1 or #2 receiver.  and Freeman is a wasted pick. 


If Miller is so good, then it makes the below argument even more valid....

Percy Harvin
CJ Spiller
Brian Price
Colt McCoy

would have been far better than drafting:

Josh Freeman
Gerald McCoy
Brian Price
A. Benn

Colt McCoy over Josh Freeman? Spiller will be decent but you don't spend a number 3 pick on a running back unless you are drafting Adrian Peterson, Gruden screwed up by drafting Carnell Williams.... Either way good to see you are already sure Freeman is a wasted pick. My best bet is Freeman will be better than any QB drafted this year or last year... ESPECIALLY Colt McCoy.

Yet another comparison between the 2006 Bucs and Raheem Morris....    Not surprising at all.

It's impossible to compare a different year to him because that was the only year they were ever even close to as bad as 2009.   Unfortunately, 2009 was Raheems ONLY year.

Your a cool dude java. But this is my thoughts on the situation.

Jon gruden was fired for a few reasons that were unchangeable.

1. The team quit on him, not just his 1st rounder MC80, but practically the whole team. The rift between coach and players was irreversable to the point that the players had to talk to the owners about it.

2. Bruce allen was a package deal with JG. And bruce allen had no clue how to draft talent, and wouldn't listen to JG when JG wanted adrian peterson and CJ2K.

3. JG could not coach the ball into the endzone, and could only seem to manage fg's. The lack of excitment on offense and instability at qb affected ticket sales drsstically.

4. jG could only win against bad teams. the times that we got hard schedules we went 4-12 5-11 7-9. He coulf never beat the colts, pats, cowboys, and other good teams. He couldn't even stay in the game woth them. We got blown out.

Anyone think of any other reasons please add. For the grudeneers, olease argue your point.

I'm guessing the jg is better than raheem is there. But our future right now is brughter than I ever felt with JG. Not because raheem, I'm still on the fence about him. But because dominik has infused this team with talent. Raheem could be fired next year, and we could have a new coach. I don't care. I want an exciting team. The problem with JG was bruce allen and a few other things.  The team plays for heemy. At least heemy can say that.

Raheem had a lot of mistakes with the play clock last year, but his ability to coach the defense was apparent for the final games.

Clock management can be taught.

But you cant teach a coach how to make his team lay their lives on the line for a guy.

He will be much better this year.

But he definitely needs some "wow that was a good call" plays to be a long term coach.

His job isnt safe, but MD's should be, just based on drafting alone.   MD shouldnt be allowed to touch free agency though.  MD has failed miserably in FA as a GM.

MD needs a better scout for the pro level... isnt that what doug williams did?

i dont know, we all dont know.  but that is what doug williams was incharge of.

MD cant do it all himself, but he has crafted the scouting department to how he wants it, and so far it looks good.

Heemy though... his job isnt safe, but he has the intangibles to be a great coach.

Aint no other way to do it, than to just do it.  cmon heemer.  MD is giving you some talent year by year.  get us on ESPN.

Like you, I'm not sold on Raheem either, but last season was DEAD ON PROOF, that THIS team is closely knit and WANT to play for HIM, the sacrifice themselves for him, whether it is their own bodies, or playtime. If he can show progress throught the course of time like this team showed last season, he gets my pass for an opportunity to see if he can translate the relationship into the field where we can play as a cohesive, and effective unit.

If you recall the interviews before and after that Packers game, I clearly remember a few of the players saying "We want(ed) to win one for Raheem"

If he can inspire them and keep them together, maybe he can learn how to be better at coaching. Plus we can all agree he did a good job with our Defense and is at the very least a good DC.

Gruden couldn't inspire the players to play like this for him. Everyone ran out of gas when it mattered, and although these guys were old, we had the playoffs in our sights!

Gruden is talented, yes, but to me its plain and simple, the players wouldn't leave it all on the field for him anymore.

The way the team laid it on the line for Raheem actually makes me believe he has the potential to be at least a GOOD coach.

That simply deserves my respect.
