Losing Smith would be like the Bucs losing Bryant.  Oh, nevermind.

It's possible that Smith might recover enough to finish training camp, but my guess is that he won't have the strength needed in his arm to play at a NFL level so he'll probably start the season on PUP unless he makes significant progress that Carolina thinks he can make it back by week 3 or 4.

Even if he gets back by week 4, odds are that he'll still not be 100%. I'm betting he starts on PUP though.

You never want to wish bad on a player.  Hope Steve recovers and can play soon.  But I ain't crying for the kitties!!!  Hate (pun intended) them dudes!!!! LOL

Without Carl Nix it feels like our running game just took a death blow to the face!

Well his agent seems to think he'll be back by the season opener: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/06/21/1515581/panthers-star-steve-smith-suffers.html

Color me skeptical. Same arm and near the prior break - I'm still thinking no earlier than week 3 or 4 and probably later.

JMO.

Are we sure he broke his arm playing flag football? Maybe he was punching out another teammate.

Carolina will be the disaster that we were last year...  Bucs should finish 6-10 this year...  Carolina is a 1-15 team

Too bad for them. I bet he will be back by the start of the season tho. A broken arm will keep him out for about 2 months which is in time for the start of the season.

Panthers are destined for a horrible season. No Peppers, no complimentary WR for Smith(when he gets healthy) lame duck Head Coach, and no proven QB. I will relish their misery
