If you can't get excited about the potential of watching Freeman develop with Williams, Stroughter and Benn on offense and the potential of watching a D-Line featuring Bones McCoy and Brian Price then I don't know what to tell you.

Is this team going to win a Super Bowl next season? Almost certainly not. But, for the first time in a long while, there's genuine reason to be excited about the long-term future of the franchise.

Hammer hit nail square on head!
IMO,-  Anyone who’s content with watching potential an development are losers.  You are admitting that this team lacks talent, which some of us have been saying. This is the NFL (Pro) football…. You develop on the developmental squad or develop sitting at 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart, Not potential/develop as starters.  You should demand winning and not giving passes, Every other team (fans,owners,etc..) expect Excellence and Win now. Not you losers.  IMO If Morris /Dominick don’t win 8 games then fire their losing azzzzes and bring in someone who can.  Potential/Develop….you guys make me sick.  I mean I don’t see those cheap azzzz &$^s   charging us Potential/Developmental  ticket prices, right?

Some of you "fans" don't deserve a winning team.

Some of us have already endured a 15 year span of developing talented young players with potential and yet we suffered through year after year of losing seasons and really don't care to do it again. If anything other than "winning" is acceptable to you, you don't deserve a winning team.

Why do you necessarily have to be wrong just because a few million people think you are?

Bingo.

That doesn't mean you fire a coach for bringing a team from the basement to 8-8.

Now let's see if we can make that improvement.  If so, that absolutely IS acceptable.

So you expected from 2001-2002 on and this team would never have to develop talent for as long as you live? That they would draft 7 players each draft that would automatically become starters?

I expect our coaches to develop talent and win at the same time.  I expect this team to win and will settle for nothing less, I expected that from all the previous coaching staffs and I expect it from this one and if the current staff can't get it done, they can join the previous ones in the commentators booth.

Why do you necessarily have to be wrong just because a few million people think you are?

So let me get this straight. If we can't go .500, you want to fire the head coach and GM, and that solves everything? So if you bring in the right head coach/GM combo, you will automatically have a winning season regardless of the talent you already have/do not have on your team. Ignoring the fact that these kinds of transitions generally slow down the development of young talent(a cornerstone of our team right now), this still makes no logical sense whatsoever. There is no deus-ex-machina in real life, bud. You have to build toward success, and that's what this franchise is doing.

I really wish people would stop calling for the firing of Morris/Dominik after this season. It would only increase the amount of time spent rebuilding this franchise.

This is only true if you're operating under the assumption that Morris/Dominik are going to be proficient in developing/finding talent. At this time, there is insufficient evidence to support that assumption. If they are not, then keeping them on is what will increase the amount of time spent rebuilding this franchise.
