When someone is asked what they would do if the world was gonna come to an end today... and they say something like "I'd party my azz off". No the hell you wouldn't. You'd cry, you'd pray (even if you're not religious), you'd hug your loved ones, you'd panic... and then you'd cry some more. You're not gonna feel like partying. You have to be in a good mood to party... and knowing that you and the ones you love are about to die a violent death is gonna keep you from being in a good mood. Sure, you can break out some booze and TRY to "party"... but the booze is only gonna make you even more emotional and upset. You're not gonna be laughing and dancing and saying "woohooo!!".

Also, when you ask someone "what would be the best way to die?"... and they say something like "while having sex". No it wouldn't. Lets say you're having sex and you experience a heart attack. You're gonna roll over, clutch your chest, cry out in pain and become terrified that you're about to be worm food. You're not gonna be thinking "I'm about to die but man this sex feels good!". You're suddenly not going to give a crap about sex. Its gonna be the last thing on your mind.

Lets be realistic.

Its easy for someone who isn't actually in that situation to say crap like this. Its a whole different story when its for real.

King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes "the wise dwell in the house of Lamentations, while the "empty headed idiot" parties with harlots and loose women all night long." The point here is not to walk around all depressed but realistically all of us will be worm food 1 day...and if you havent prepared yourself for that day you have no one to blame but yourself.
Problem is that death is closer for some people than others, and nobody knows what their time frame is. So again, the wisdom here is to ALWAYS be righteous and not thinking you'll repent and change later because you might never get the opportunity.

The next best way to die is instantaneously IMO. Like being shot in the brain... and you're dead before you hit the ground. You don't see it coming because you're shot from behind and theres no time to feel pain or even hear the shot... but even THAT isn't perfect. Who knows, you might feel a quick burst of excruciating pain for a fraction of a second before you're dead. Thats why I say the only perfect way to die is in your sleep.

This is sort of like the philosophical question: If you could be told the exact date and time of your death, would you want to know? Imagine how different you would live your life just by knowing that little piece of information...

The way I look at it is that no one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300. Heck, I just read in the newspaper that they put a pig heart in some guy from Russia. Do you know what that means?

I read a comic book back in the 70's called Weird Tales or something like that.   A guy was told his exact date and time of death.   At first he didn't believe it, but when the other people who had been told they were going to die soon were actually dying at the time they were told they would, he believed it.    He had been told he'd live 60 more years.   So he became a daredevil like Evil Kneivel.    He made a lot of money putting on shows where he performed dangerous tasks knowing he would live 60 more years anyway.    In one of his shows though, he was badly injured and lost both arms, both legs, his sight and ability to speak.   The last caption of the comic book was the guy laying in the hospital as a vegetable all wrapped in bandages with no arms or legs thinking to himself "60 more years.....".

I thought that was great.

Why would you cry or panic if you're part of a religion that has a rewarding afterlife? Surely you should be thankful that time is up on this world, you've enjoyed it, but now you're moving onto better things. I didn't cry my last day of my mediocre high school years because I knew I was going off to college where I would be happier. Funny how believers are the most insecure and scared about the end of their life, and have to make up crap like "there's no atheists in foxholes" to make themselves feel better. I'd happily party and have sex with whoever.
