At least it happened in the pre-season and not in the middle of the season.

there's isnt that much difference between Freeman and Johnson, there really isnt.   where Freeman brings a better arm, Johnson brings more speed.   the both throw the same interceptions and make the same bad decisions.   it just doesnt matter who the QB is, this team isnt going anywhere.

Dude needs reps. This is a terrible development. It's also the kind of injury that Can linger.

I'm not going to panic. If we opened the season next Sunday, he would be out there. It sucks that he isnt going to be getting game reps in the biggest preseason game next week but I'm definitely not going to go back to this injury as an excuse if Freeman struggles in the regular season.

Maybe when he recovers he will throw better.  Now what's the plan?

Josh Johnson is terrible. He was terrible last year and looked exactly like you would expect a guy who couldn't land a D1 scholarship offer to look. There is no way this team can even be competitive with under center.

Doubt we bring in(outside a practice dummy) or trade for anyone if he's only out a couple weeks.

http://www.surgerywise.com/procedure_info/fingertip-injury.htm

"Often, no surgery is needed and a simple broken fingertip can be splinted for about 3 weeks until healed."

I remember Romo getting the same injury in 2008 against the Cardinals, and he missed 3 weeks but came back to finish the year strong (outside the last 2 weeks anyway). Freeman should be fine. I'm more concerned about our run defense which still seems very questionable.

There is no way Freeman will be game ready after 8 preseason passing attempts.
