I'm a tad stubborn...
How can we expect to go far in the play offs when we can't put up any points on the friggin Orioles. I think they are more concerned about other teams scores instead of ours.
12k there

Do you have to attend a game in person to be a true sports fan? Rays broadcasts get some of the highest TV ratings in the TB/STP area. And did you see all the uproar when the Bucs game wasn't broadcasted due to the blackout. The area has sports fans, but they just can't afford to attend or have figured out that watching it on HDTV iis much better than going in person.Looks like Price and Longoria spoke out about it last night.http://www.tampabay.com/sports/baseball/rays/article1124561.ece

They built the team. They expanded payroll. They got the wins. And still no one comes. The Rays are ranked 24th in the league out of 30 teams in terms of attendance. Blame whatever you want. Location, unemployment, etc.. But those numbers are just not going to do it. And now they are going to slash payroll next year. And then Im sure all the fans will blame "greedy owners." The financials were leaked on the Rays a few months ago. The team as of right now cannot turn a profit unless payroll is shrinked to $45 million. That means they need to cut $25 million next year in order for the franchise to profit $1 dollar. That's just the nature of the beast in MLB. Most MLB franchises don't have lucrative TV contracts the way NFL franchises have. The Rays actually have a pretty bad TV deal but can't do anything about it until that expires several years from now. In MLB, there is no salary cap. And the profitability of a franchise is in a large part linked to the number of tickets they sell. Maybe it is just that there are not enough baseball fans in this area to support a franchise. If the Bucs won the Super Bowl, this area would go crazy. People would be in the streets celebrating. If the Rays won the World Series...will the celebration be anything like that? Probably not. Not even close. If you go to ESPN.com, there are a number of polls asking fans about Rays fans. 38,000+ responded to the polls. 73% says Price and Longoria are right and nothing wrong in saying it. They were talking about it on Mike and Mike this morning and said the Rays need to move.
