Bucs moving up

CJ is the best player in the draft and it would not suprise me that the rumors of him being drafted by Oakland are heating up right now.  Which is prompting this trade up talk with the Bucs.  After CJ the Bucs would be trading up for:

QB Jemarcus Russell
QB Brady Quinn
OT Joe Thomas

I wouldn't mind moving up, it guarantees one of the two best players coming out at WR or LT in a few years. Worth the 2b IMO. Essentially your trading Bogger Mac for a franchise player.

So is trading out of the #4 spot. Unless there's no chance on CJ or JT. Come on guys we're a threat like CJ away from having instant respect on offense.

I see it like this and its simple. If the Raiders move Moss, then you sweat a little bit about losing CJ and JT. If they keep Moss and all reports as of today are that this trade rumor is nothing more than a rumor, then you stay pat. You have 2 spots ahead of you and you want 1 out of the 2 (CJ or JT). It would then have to go CJ/JT or JT/CJ and I would not think that would happen.

Regarding teams trading up. I don't think those teams want to give up much to get there and they teams that will give up something substantial would be moving the Lions back more than they would like to go.

I'm perfectly okay with "missing out" on CJ.  The only offensive guy I'm happy with at the top of this draft is JT.  If we don't have a shot at JT, I am hoping we trade down to get some defensive help.

Please let them stay at 4. We need players bad. We have been trading picks like mad for years. Does everyone remember that? It might feel like dying a slow death if Oakland picks CJ and Detroit goes with Thomas but at 4 we will get a elite player. We need 2 or three solid picks and supplemental talent in the later rounds. If we trade up and end up like the Giants we are screwed.

4-12 Pick at 4 if you're guy is there or try to Trade down.

CJ + JT = 2 players.

Lions hold the #2 spot.

Oakland drafts a player (either CJ or JT).

Bucs are left with whomever is left (CJ or JT).

Makes sense no?

Kirwin just said on Sirius Radio that the Bucs can't stay at 4 and get CJ and that he's hearing there have been trade talks between us and Detroit to move up to #2.

CJ isn't the guy to burn picks on to move up.

Right, stay with the plan. If he happens to fall then fine.

We all would brotha. CJ gives us instant cred on offense, and this draft is plenty deep with defensive talent, yet not so much on offense. Get the BPA, even everyone's dead grandmother knows it's CJ. So what's the discussion?

Bucs can lose picks as long as they regain them by trading Rice or Kelly or trading either one or both in place of picks.

If we give up a player (Kelly, Rice, or both [plus pick #4]), I'm cool with it. But I would be REALLY sad to see a first day pick go. Having said that, If Allen and Gruden see enough in Thomas or Johnson to bite the bullet, they've got my support.
