Good hire, he always seemed to have a good defense.

ESPN is reporting it's Muschamp.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5910011

He's a helluva recruiter.

So was Zook .... We can only hope.

LOL .... Some loser already has it on Muschamp's Wiki page.

This came out of left field, didn't it, Gator fans ...? Is there any history with UF, except playing for Ga?

Meyer didn't have any history with Florida either.

My other fear regarding Zook was neither had previous HC experience. But Muskie was being groomed as a future HC, Zook was just a bad reach.

What I don't like is: "The sources said Muschamp was the only person Florida interviewed."

He lived in Gainesville for 10 years before moving to (and playing for) Georgia, and then being the DC for LSU and Auburn.  He's very familiar with the SEC.

I'm pretty pissed that Foley let Randy Edsall get away.  You know, he just won the best conference in college football with an 8-4 record...

Foley is on a short leash for this egregious error.

Interesting that Muschamp and Jimbo Fisher were DC and OC together at LSU under Saban.  Ought to bring some good flavor to the UF/FSU games.

IDK how he could make that statement about the best conference in football lol.

He did have a qualifier for that statement ,,,, still a bit of a loon, though.

Good.  I will.  I hope every other AD is as ignorant towards Edsall as you are.

You're being a little too sensitive, Sally.  I'm not saying Edsall sucks, I'm saying he hasn't really done enough to be the HC at Florida.  Regardless of what the haters say, it's one of the best jobs in CFB.  Edsall isn't in that category yet.

Well, let me ask you this... did you think Urban Meyer had done enough to be the HC at Florida?

Yes.  He went undefeated at Utah and won a BCS bowl before coming to Florida.  He was 39-8 at Bowling Green and Utah before coming to Gainesville.  Edsall is 74-69 at UConn.  It's not even close.

Ok... so then Edsall should go coach a couple of lower conference schools... that already have winning traditions, and then he'll be "Florida worthy"?  Like I said, I hope all AD's are as ignorant towards Edsall as you are.

2005 Fiesta Bowl:  Urban Meyer took his non-BCS conference team into Arizona to pummel the Big East Champs 35-7 to complete an undefeated (12-0) season.

2011 Fiesta Bowl:  Randy Edsall took his Big East Championship team into Arizona to get pummeled by the Big 12 Champs 48-20 (and the game wasn't even that close) to complete an 8-5 season.

Ignorant is right.
