Hayes plays a more vital position and isn't consistently good.

I'm not a fan of any of our three starting LBs, but they have been playing much better the last three games. If they keep this up it will be hard to decide.

RACIST!

I keed.

Carlos Dunlap instead of Brian Price in 2010 Trade up for Aldon Smith instead of Adrian Clayborn in 2011 Vontaze Burfict in 2012

Agree with you on this.

Either one can be replaced, IMO.

I'm hoping we resign Black, but bring in a few LBs to replace our back ups. Then let it be an open competition and make these guys actually earn the starting spot. As it is Black and Hayes were pretty much handed the jobs with no competition when we purged the old guys. They aren't bad, but I'd rather have them as depth and have some real play makers starting in our LB corps.

If we replace Ruud with a rookie MLB though, we'll probably need to keep veterans on the outside though.

I don't think our OLB's are all world, but they are certainly adequate.

I'd take a rookie MLB with Black at Sam.

Hayes.  And make it open competition between Black and Watson.
