I can't decide which is dumber.  That they actually suspended them for five games, or that they didn't suspend them for the Bowl game.  I don't know how anybody can defend the NCAA as an organization, because they really are on-par with the mafia.

NCAA is losing all credibility with their inconsistency.  I am not arguing the fact they did something stupid.  But didn't Newton's family do something stupid as well?  Just seems too weird to be taken seriously.
Also understand why some are questioning why not ban from the Sugar bowl.  That would have made sense to me as well.

The greater crime is having that Buckeye on his arm.

What I don't get is that it was Pryor's own stuff that he earned or was given. So why is it not his decision to be able to sell it if he so desires. Its not like he stole anything or sold something that was not his. This is just ridiculous. So if he decided to sell his car and walk would he get suspended?  Its the same premise.

In Football, RESPECT is never given freely by your opponent. It must be TAKEN from them...VIOLENTLY

Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.

Quote
If the suspensions are not overturned, the players will sit out games against Akron, Toledo, Miami (Fla.), Colorado and Michigan State.

Unless the players, who are all Jrs. turn Pro. In which case they will all escape with ZERO punishment. Brilliant, just brilliant.

All it shows is that the NCAA is about $.  Bottom line.  How else would someone explain not having to sit out the bowl game?

A joke, but not even remotely as close as the greatest joke...the BCS!  Cam Newton didn't know about his father getting paid about as much as Oliver North not knowing about anything while on the stand.

Suppose the reason they get to play is...they pledge to come back next year. I guess if they don't Ohio State would be stripped of the win (if they hapen to win the game). But what happens if they lose? Do the NCAA dirty and bail, Ohio State would lose nothing.

This has been a huge black-eye for Coach Tressel.

Ha, Biggs, I actually agree.  I am one of the FEW Buck's fans I know who actually thought he should have stepped down.  The presser was embarassing, and it hasn't gotten any better since.  I do like Fickell, though, his fill in for the first five games - thus far.

Wish he would step down. Bring on Urban Meyer :)

And the hits just keep coming for Tressel and Ohio State.  Now they are reviewing "at least 50" car sales:
