And whats that for the SEC, 5-5 in bowls?  Truly dominant.

What other conference had 10 out of 12 teams make a bowl game???

Lets not say that a team is good because they went to a bowl.  Too many 6-6 teams went to bowls.

But no knocking the SEC - they've won the games that mattered.  But top to bottom they're 5-5.

exactly. when a Conference has 10 teams go to bowl games, that means that the 8th, 9th, and 10th best teams were playing some other conferences 3rd-4th-5th best team. If you just look at the SEC teams with winning records (which I think should be the bowl requirement) then they were 5-2 in bowls and those losses were a 5-6th place Ark against #1c Big Ten OSU and a 4th place SCar vs the ACC champ.

ACC Champ was VT, who got pummeled.  FSU was the ACC's #2 vs. South Carolina who was (by the same standard - lost in the Champ game) the SEC's #2.

This isn't a true comparison.  FSU was the team that lost the conference championship like SC was, but they were also the second highest ranked team in the ACC.  South Carolina was the 4th highest rated team in the SEC.  The West was much stronger than the East, so SC wasn't the 2nd best team in the SEC.

Not totally a true comparison - just saying they both won their respective divisions.

Pretty entertaining game last night, I was not truly impressed with either team completely. Oregon seemed to be a gimmicky type of offense, lot of trick plays, lot of misdirection had a few talented players but it seemed to me that they achieved more through their misdirection type offense than with overall skill. Then Auburn seemed to have the edge with their defensive and offensive lines, but Newton is not a polished QB, he missed quite a few throws that would have turned this game into a blowout. So while the game was entertaining to the very end I can't help but feel underwhelmed. Congrats to both teams for a good season.

Lastly I didn't like the way the Oregon QB handled his post game press conference by not giving any respect to the Auburn defense, kind of classless on his part. But he's young hopefully this teaches him some humility when he watches the game film.

I still think that regular season ooc records are a more indicative measure than these exhibition games played at the end of the year with weeks in between ....
