Funny how the SEC is only 1 game better than the Big East for the best winning pct, yet people still think the Big East doesn't deserve a BCS bid.

Isn't that at least partially due to the fact that there are more teams in the SEC?

WOW!!! 2 WHOLE TEAMS in 8 years??!!!
Quote from: TBayXXXVII on January 18, 2011, 12:39:00 PMWOW!!! 2 WHOLE TEAMS in 8 years??!!!Read it again. It's 2%+ and 23 more teams in 8 years.

It's 2%+ and 23 more teams in 8 years.Don't need to read it again. That 2% would gone if just 2 more teams over the last 8 years had made a bowl game. Percentages are just that. In the last 8 years, the Big East has had 65% of it's teams make a bowl game and the SEC had 67%. Are you saying that the BE needed to have 65 of it's 64 teams make a bowl game to be equal to the SEC? You're saying that the Big East needed a 101.5% bowl representation? If the BE had 44 teams (instead of 42), make a bowl game, they'd be 1% better than the SEC.'
FRG is the most logical poster on this board. You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.
Why is someone arguing against the conference that has had 4 different teams winning 5 straight national championships?

Here, I'll make it easier. The SEC has had more (overwhelmingly) teams and a higher percentage (slightly) of their teams make bowl games in the last 8 years.
You get to bowls by beating other conference mates which doesn't tell you squat about stacking up against other conferences.
A true measure would be reg season ooc games against other conferences and the results ...
And enough with the 5 straight MNC wins.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but teams play other conferences in bowl games.Quote from: Col. Do you realize how small the minority is that you are in?

And enough with the 5 straight MNC wins. All those represent are 5 wins against another conference and I would allow those, and only those, bowl games to be included in the ooc head to head comparisons ....
You're better off comparing regular season conference against conference games.
