Are the Bucs considered the up and coming team - with a progressive players-head coach? Will TB be one of the teams of choice for signing free agents now that they're competitive again?  Hope Dominik can sign not necessarily the top, overpriced FA, but the second-tier FA who can fill the holes in the Buc team.

LOL they didn't pay him to leave. They were going to pay him if he stayed or if he left.  So the amount they paid to Gruden was exactly the same. Also, it was very reasonable to expect that Gruden would have gotten a new coaching job between then and now. So it is also reasonable for the Glazers to have thought (or hoped) they would not have to pay Gruden the entire time. Nary a person on this globe expected Gruden to turn down so many opportunities over the years.

I have not liked a lot of their moves, but I have gone to at least one game a season, and I fly in from LA. Worrying about someone else's financials really seems dumb to me because whatever mistakes they made, they had enough to buy the team in the first place. That makes them pretty smart. Matter of fact, it makes them smarter than most of the fans complaining about not being able to afford tickets because of finances, if you think of it logically.

That's hilarious. I have always thought Gruden was overrated. I will always think Gruden is Tampa Bay's version of Barry Switzer in Dallas, but I never thought about saying no to supporting the Bucs because I was an almost obsessive Dungy fan. If you cannot afford to go to games stop blaming the ownership, just say you are broke. There is no shame in that.

I will be damned if I try to tell another grown man how to spend his money. All we fans can hope for is that the people who own our favorite team will care enough to try to win and I truly believe the Glazers have tried, I don't think they are good at winning, but i cannot say they have not tried to win. Their is a difference by the way.

Even last year they let Rah and Dom make the choices necessary to get us ready to win again. That is good business.

You are absolutely correct, but just as there are people as you describe, there are also many others with agendas of their own. Heck, there are probably over a dozen separate agendas on these forums. The funny part is, everyone says they themselves don't have the agenda, it's only the other guy who does.   

And that is what is wrong with these forums, or rather the people on it. From the days when Dungy was fired and fans picked sides and started to viciously attack each other through rubbing of the SB into Dungy supporters faces, back to smearing the failure of Gruden back at them and now the events of the last two years. This fan base is more fractured than the San Andreas fault. Whenever people try and put the past behind them, the past is just brought back up and used for nothing but to laugh at the posters. Petitions of civility have been signed and promptly ignored. This forum is no longer about Bucs fans supporting the team, it is about a bunch of people who just want to prove the other wrong, laugh at each other, make fun of each other and degrade each other, who also happen to like the Buccaneers. I have been guilty of it myself, not claiming otherwise. Just pointing out the way things are as I see them.

Thanks for pointing that out guys. I guess it's different for Bucs fans in other parts of the country. We really don't have time to argue with each other because when I wear my Bucs gear here in Los Angeles, it is all me against the world, but I love it because I love the Bucs and I have fun talking and drinking and enjoying games. Even last year, I wore my gear to the same sports bar in Hollywood and took it like a man. So I do not understand why more guys in here would not just be happy to know that they at least have each others back.

There is no better feeling for me personally than my one game a year at RJS. It's like going to heaven if even for one day. Win or lose, I'm surrounded by Buc fans. I cannot ask for more really. Every year I hear stories of how Cowboy fans feel going to Texas Stadium, or Packers fans that get to see a game at Lambeau, that is how I feel every year when I walk into RJS, so I would imagine that is why I was so hurt last year seeing the stadium empty. I couldn't imagine my heaven as a Buc fan wasn't good enough for the fans that root for the Bucs like I do.

I have these very same conversations with other Bucs fans and never get called one of the 1000 insults flying around here. It really is mostly just this un-moderated forums and a bunch of over heated macho egos. I wonder how much it would change if this place had a real admin or two who's actual job it was to be an admin, not just a reporter with admin privileges. PR S, CC, WH and the rest just don't have the time, it's not a slam on them.

I will say the TB bored at Football's Future is Very good when this place seems too negative at times. sometimes it feels VERY diffrent. not nearly as active though or as news-driven

Almost all message boards are this way and many are much worse.  The old TBBBB was moderated and worse than this one is.  Its the nature of an annonymous message board.  People don't waste a lot of time on civility like they do in real situations with another human being.  The real issue is when people are too sensitive and act like it's so horrible to read something someone else wrote because they don't agree with it. 

Read everything and keep in mind it's going to be pretty argumentative and even rude sometimes.  If you can't take the heat... just don't tell me about ignore lists cause thats just womanly.
