What's going on is insane. It looks pretty insane on tv with houses and cars getting swept away. Looks like we are approaching the end times.

The quake has severely damaged the cooling system at the Fukushima nuclear plant. Heat and pressure are building in three ractors, and radiation levels are reported to already be 1,000 times above normal. The plant is currently in a state of emergency. Thousands of people around the plant are being evacuated.

The quake was so strong it ripped a tear into the Earth's crust that is 150 miles long and 50 miles across and knocked the rotation of the planet off by 4 inches.

A cruise ship and a train are also missing.

Thank goodness GWB isn't in office ....what would he do?

"Damn, I'd hate to be down there"

An AirForce One flyover and return to DC.....

Heck of a job, Brownie.

------------------------

Seriously, shame to see this happen. Unfortunately, all those cities, including our own, on the Pacific Rim are at risk - not a matter of "if" but a matter of "when"-

Hope we're ready.

Funny, that's the same thing Obama plans to do.

There has been a LOT of EQs lately.  This one by far and away the worst.  Wonder how this one will be received by the world...Haiti was bad, and was met with a tremendous amount of sympathy.  But will it have gotten the same attention that a world economic superpower receive?

Before anyone gets odd, I am half, and my mother has friends and relatives in Japan.  What is happening there is absolutely unfathomable, but Mother Nature will wipe away a lot of work in mere seconds.  All of us know this.  But to watch the live footage was absolutely horrifying.  With all this stuff happening, should we be concerned about all the "doom and gloom" prophecies? Or is this another example of a random Mother Nature incident?

I know one thing for sure...eventually, this planet will die.  Maybe not for a long time, but it will...

If it was just one of these natural disasters that took place in the last six years I would say its just mother nature. But between Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan, Haiti, Chile, Indonesia in which 100's of thousands of lives were lost than I would begin to wonder. I think this Japan Earthquake will fall in the same category as Haiti when they are done assessing the damage. What was seen on tv was just unbelievable to where there had to been at LEAST a 100,000+ lives lost unfortunately. The media tends to undershoot the numbers anyways.

Building nuclear reactors on/near fault lines doesn't make much sense.   But other than stupid manmade catastrophies, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods have been happening for centuries.

But I'm sure those doom/gloom prophecy fanatics will come out along w/ the Westboro Church to provide their two cents.

Thousands still missing -

(Reuters) - More than 1,700 people are likely dead or missing following a massive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, Kyodo news agency reported on Saturday.

Yeah, nothing like this has ever happened before... http://lowery.tamu.edu/personal/songs/hurricane/thestorm/1900strm.htm

When are we not "approaching the end times?" When are there not earthquakes and tidal waves?
