He plays great when hes out there and he is usual good to suit up. Although he hasn't made the probowl, he has been a probowl caliber cornerback for us. I'm not ready to see him go. Drafting a good corner back Im all for though. He can be paired with Talib to create a great duo or he can replace Talib if Talib does indeed screw up again. Also as MD put it, you can never have enough (quality)corners.

He aint all that, dude.  Someone had the top 25 CB's the other day, and he didnt even make the list.  Someone also mentioned he is way overvalued on this very board and I tend to agree with that.

Just because he didn't make ESPN's list doesn't mean he's not one of the best. Dunta Robinson was on there for gods sake, along with a handful of others that definitely aren't better than Aqib. Grimes? C'mon maan.

At this point in time I'd trade Talib for Grimes straight up w/o a moments hesitation.

Last time I checked I'm pretty sure they said they are gonna see how it plays out and it's already been a reduced charge. Pretty sure we're keeping him.

UPDATE 9:56 a.m.: Earlier today JoeBucsFan.com published a post that stated the felony assault case against Aqib Talib was reduced to a misdemeanor charge and he was headed for a sentence of probation. 

Joe jumped the gun.

Joe had talked to sources in Dallas on Thursday and, in conjuction with the case being assigned to a judge Friday and further follow up, Joe reached the wrong conclusion, though that’s resolution Joe expects in the case.

Mistakes happen, and Joe will not hide from his error.

This morning, Talib’s Dallas attorney Frank Perez told JoeBucsFan.com that he “expects to take the case to the grand jury and have it resolved there,” meaning Talib would not be indicted. “We’ve interviewed 17 or 19 witnesses and none of them say Aqib Talib had a gun. He wasn’t handling a gun,” Perez said.

How the Tampa area media has any credibility left when it comes to the Bucs after all these years is beyond me.

In general and specifically to the Talib case.....I wouldn't base what we think may happen on what the Bucs have said because they would be very unlikely to reveal their plans. That doesn't mean Stroud is right or wrong just that the fact that the Bucs have been kind of nebulous with their plans doesn't mean he won't be cut the first chance they have.

Also...someone mentioned PR saying he wouldn't be cut. IIRC...that was an opinion formed on the basis of what the Bucs have done in the past not information on this case specifically.

Bottom line is that we don't know what the Bucs will do. It's possible that we'll find out as early as Thursday.

I knew it was one of the local hacks, they've all blured into one big source of misinformation.

I won't be shocked no matter what the Bucs do in Talibs case (OK if they gave him a contract extension I'd be shocked) but personally I don't see why they should punish him on top of what the league hands down, and we know they will do something no matter the outcome ,IF it's decided he didn't have a part in the gunplay. It could be a case of wrong lace wrong time for a person with his reputation but then it was his family so...

If Raheem had traded him prior to this event, I agree.   But Raheem apparently has no problem with the guy's character so he kept him around.    Talib no way could command a 2nd round pick.   No team would even consider more than a 5th round pick at this point.

FWIW, ESPN is reporting this now. I also find it hard to believe that the would just cut the guy. There have to be other options.

I just turned on NFLN and they were saying something about the troubled Bucs CB but didn't catch anymore more than that.  Could be true.
