Is this enough for the Super Star corner back to be booted from Florida all will he be on double secret probation and be allowed to play for only the "BIG" Games?
Time to see if Muschamp and company actually have rules and discipline or do they just look the other way once again?

I am really getting tired of these idiot players. He could have declared for the draft and been a top 15 pick. Since he decided to return, you'd think he'd stay away from anything illegal for a year and insure that 8 figure payday. Stupid stupid stupid.

And I can remember Preston Parker getting arrested for stealing a DVD player from Best Buy, then arrest for possession and gun charges and only getting a 2 game suspension. Didn't get kicked off till the 3rd arrest which was after the season was over. So it seems Bobby's rule was more like 3 strikes.

as far as what Muschamp will do?  We will see.

IMO, a 6 game suspension is the minimum acceptable penalty and I'd support getting the full boot.

what an idiot. million dollar talent. 2 cent head. hes killing his draft stock. itll be interesting to see what muschamp does. doesnt seem like the kinda guy who is gonna take it. if he wasnt the best guy on defense id guarantee hed be kicked off the team. that being said id expect at least a 4 game suspension. muschamp needs to set a strong example otherwise hes going to have another 26 arrests on his hands.

Should be a 4 game minimum and 6 game maximum.  Muschamp needs to go ahead and set the tone with the low expectations of the upcoming season.

I read where Jenkins was suspended for one game for a tazer fight with the cops in 2009.  Has he been suspended from any other games?

Glad to see that others feel that a 4-6 game suspension is in order.   As to Preston Parker he was suspended for 2 games and then later dismissed  on his (3rd) offense.

Florida senior cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been dismissed from the football team, days after his second drug-related arrest in three months.

I'm surprised he acted so quick. I expected Muschamp to at least wait to see how the legal system produced.

He likely would have been the 3rd CB taken in this years draft but stayed in school. Now he'll likely be a third round pick at best in the supplemental draft-if there is one.

Hats off to Muschamp!   Finally, a coach at Florida that seems to practice what he preaches rather than filling the airwaves with strong rhetoric with little if any real consequence.

While not a dramatic as FSU when they dismissed Randy Moss, Janoris clearly is one of the best players on the team.   It indeed was an unpleasant message that Muschamp has sent.  I imagine for many gator fans wishing" just another chance coach" are disappointed.  However, it is indeed the right message.

It really isn't about the Pot but more about a player that puts himself above rules of the team.    Good job! Muschamp!

good for muschamp. he is doing what jimbo did last year and cutting someone who would be starting and important. it shows muschamp has character and wont tolerate bs.

it sucks for jenkins but i dont feel bad for him. he knew what was at stake. hes made his bed and he has to lay in it.

now if he enters the supplemental draft i wouldnt be angry if the Bucs took a flier on him. just make sure he knows the rules and drug test him every week. hopefully he gets a wakeup call after this and gets it together like preston parker did.

The only reason FSU fans get high and mighty about Randy Moss is because he turned out to be an awesome player. But they never got anything out of him so they didn't have anything to lose. He could have just as easily been another Fred Rouse and no one would bring it up.

Yes since UF Tennessee and Notre Dame were the first choices for Moss it was interesting that Holtz recommended Moss be under Bowden's mentoring versus the others.  Perhaps UF's leniency towards these issues was the reason?

Randy Moss was the #1 rated prospect coming out of high school to state that no one could know if he would be a star may be correct but history proved that he arguably is best WR in CFB history after his non- career at FSU.  FSU actually made him sit his Freshman year as terms of his enrollment despite the fact that he had shown in practice he was clearly a MAN among boys in terms of wr skills.

The point that he never got a chance to show that talent at FSU is precisely the point that needs to be made. UF has had the benefit of Jenkins for the last couple of years FSU never gave Moss that chance after one pot incident. Janoris has had multiple arrests for Pot and has been allowed to slide repeatedly which points to how lenient UF is on its discipline.
