, he has a serious, incurable, nerve condition that may have flared last season to affect his ability to contribute.

im no doctor, but im pretty sure erbs palsy doesnt flare up.

Nope, you're right, that comment showed my ignorance - I didn't really look into Clayborn, because I tought we couldn't possibly be really thinking of drafting this guy in the first round - but after doing a quick laymens search, Erb's sounds worse than I thought: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erb%27s_palsy

I don't know how a kid with this type of set-back performed at an elite level, he must be special.

He didn't participate in the Combine BP - because he couldn't - he will be at a definite disadvantage in the NFL...

If Dominick is this high on the kid - he's earned my respect, he knows what he's doing - I just can't get my head around it all yet. I guess in this instance, seeing is believing.

Some people are negative toward the "unknown", and rookies, no matter their college resume, ARE unknown in the NFL. Some of us see the unknown as an opportunity, and in a positive sense. I wanted Pouncey as a future replacement for Faine, but this guy sounds like the next best thing, so I'm with'em on their selection. Millard with coach him up big-time!!

Some of us live in reality and understand that huge, 300 lb (+), men possessing cat-like reflexes and able to dead-lift houses....every week....are going to present Adrian Clayborn with an entirely new situation -  requiring a lot of strength.

The NFL doesn't employ socialism on the playing field - it's the law of the jungle - usually one legged water buffalo's - don't get a chance to reproduce.

Clayborn faced a lot of those monsters in the Big 10.

c'mon.  does the same apply for kerrigan?  for quinn?  clayborn was a mid-late first rounder by everyone how has a clue.  he doesnt have a handicapped sticker on his car.  clayborn has shown to be a lion in the jungle.

I don't dislike the Clayborn pick - and he has proven himself in a NCAA division with a tradition of great left tackles - and he did well there.

...but in college, even at the Division I level - they had weeks where they had it a bit easier...

When compared to the idea we were actually considering Cam Jordan...I LOVE Clayborn - but my point is, he MUST be special, because the talent he'll face every week will be the best he's ever seen...

Since I trust Dom - I'm choosing to believe Clayborn is that special. I'm just being honest about my concern - the NFC South is NOT the Big Ten.

Until Raheem and Dom screw up on a first round pick, I have no reason to doubt them. Meanwhile, I have more than enough reasons to doubt the word of scouts, who are laughably wrong on handfuls of picks every single draft, including our very own Josh Freeman.

Sorry, Josh Freeman's talent was there for all (smart guys) to see...

Adrian Clayborn earns my silence because Dom picked him - therefore the concern remains until he proves otherwise.

I still don't think you pick a RDE if you desperately NEED a pass rushing end - in the FIRST round.

I assume you meant LDE.

Dominick has already stated that Clayborn will play right end in Tampa. To get after the QB.

He IS. Thats why DOM drafted him.

Cant wait to see this guy in pewter and red. 'Im going to get his rookie jersey and instead of saying CLAYBORN on the back it will say ERB.
