With the 151st overall pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers use their fifth-round selection to draft Florida SS Ahmad Black, who was a Pewter Report late round Bucs' Best Bet at the safety position.

I think I am faster in a forty than he is, and I am 38 years old...and out of shape.

Dude is slow...he is a backup for life, IMO.

I like him but would have preferred to wait until the 6th round.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

First pick I'm not a fan of.  Would have had a bigger corner with enough size to convert to FS.  Black is a guy we will have to scheme around to be effective.  Upside IMO is slot nickel and STs.

I really think they were looking at Dion Lewis or Pinkston there and when we missed out they were trying to trade back.

He plays a lot faster than what he ran.
I like it, don't know if he'll compete for a starting job at FS. Definitely has the tackling and ballhawking skills you like to see at that position.
Depending what happens with T-Jax, Black would be my choice to start.
With Rah as his coach.....wouldn't surprise me at all.

Raheem likes big, athletic corners, but at safety he looks for head hunters, that are instinctive like Black.

This draft has surpassed my expectations with some nasty defensive players added to the team!  Just wow!

He is very much in the mold of Cody Grimm IMO. Does not seem to have eye popping intangibles and people are always saying he doesn't do this, doesn't that etc, etc, but he always seems to turn up at the right place, at the right time doing the right thing.

Game speed doesn't lie.  Who cares on the 40.  Dude can react.  Love the pick.  So far, no complaints on all picks.  Would have liked quizz here but stupid falgoons :P

As a Gator fan, I've see a lot of Ahmad Black. He is a ballhawk who makes big plays at the biggest moments of the game. He's a terrific tackler and has superb football instincts making him play faster than he times.

Great pick!

He's one of the smartest CFB players I've ever seen.  He's small, but he can still hit.  Dude is just always around the football.  And he's a first-class guy.

Pat Kirwan doesnt like the pick. He says Black doesnt fit in to Raheem's defensive schemes at all.
