I never understood the argument for drafting Harvey as our MLB, but I'd be all for brining him in as a special teams / developmental guy. With his size and style of play, he could possibly have a future in the NFL as a DT. I forget the guys name who went from Oakland to Atlanta, and who had a few 10+ sack years as a DT but he was a converted linebacker.

Love Mario Harvey. I was disappointed that we didn't use that second 7th rounder on him.

A McKenzie, Foster, Harvey lineup would be nasty.

1. Donald
2. Bridgewater
3. Landry
5. Abbrederis
6. Lyerla

You guys are talking about Rod Coleman. He was a converted linebacker. He gained weight and became a solid defensive tackle, until injuries began to mount. But he parlayed his success in Oakland into a fairly lucrative deal from the Falcons.

Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.

that 5'10" is supposed 5'10 7/8", right?  so really 5'11".  im surprised he didnt get a combine invite OR a 7th round selection with measurables alone.

Harvey actually looks like a real good SLB.. his measurable are questionable but he seems to have the quickness and strength to be a very good SLB.

I'm sure teams were/are concerned about whether or not he'd be able to see where the ball is

I think his problem is that he wasn't invited to the combine, and not many teams made the trip to see his pro day. He had a lack of exposure. A sure tackling LB who runs a 4.46 40 @ 250 lbs does not go undrafted under normal circumstances.
