ummmm....49ers have been running the 3-4.  There was some buzz they may switch back to a 4-3, but it looks as if they confirmed they will be running a 3-4 again this year. I believe they switched to the 3-4 in 09'.

Yup they are running a 3-4 and he will be an outside linebacker. And so will marion williams for the texans. I no people dont think they can but 90 percent of the time they will be rushing the passer. The only coverage they may do will be zone anyway. Most like just drifting into the flats.  You have to picture them as demarcus ware basically. He is an OLB in wades system(wade is mario williams d coordinator now.)

Well maybe I am wrong then, but I just watched about 20 different plays from 5 different games just to see and they are in a 4-3 or 4-2-5 (nickel) every time.

*Watched another 20 snaps. It looks to me like they use the 4-2-5 more than anything else. Almost always have 4 down linemen though.

*Watched 20 more snaps. Out of 60 total snaps I saw (3-4) 6 times, (4-2-5) 28 times, (4-3) 22 times, and (4-1-6) 4 times. With Mike Singletary gone I guess none of this matters, but I suspect Aldon Smith will be rushing as a 4-3 DE most of the time whether his hand is in the dirt or not.

Yeah I got that and have seen the same thing on other sites.....but I've also read a few articles that say they might be going back to the 4-3 as thier base defense. When I actually watch them play in 2010, they usually had 4 down linemen already. That was under Mike Singletary though with Greg Manusky as defensive coordinator. Who knows what Harbaugh and new DC Vic Fangio will do. I haven't read anything about what they plan on doing on defense, just bloggers give pros and cons for the 3-4 vs. 4-3.


I guess we'll see soon enough.

I wanna replace Leonard Hankerson with AJ Green. I forgot the Redskins have no QB. I think the Bengals will be better with no TO or Ocho around. Dalton and Green will have a good rookie year.

And I think you would have gotten one more if Leshoure stayed healthy.  That kid would have been a stud in that offense imo.
