Used in a sentence:

President Obama's speeches and policies have all the substance of santorum.

Irrelevant poll at this point in time. Maybe if it was October of 2012.

I'd love for RP to win the presidency but I just don't see it.

I thought RP announced he was retiring? Is a guy who is retiring/not running really that close to BHO?

He's retiring from Congress, not the Presidential race.  He's still running.

What Biggs said, hes retiring from Congress. He said he is going to focus all his energy into winning the presidency. Unfortunately I think Joe is right, he probably wont win the nomination anyways. He could win every primary and still not get in because the Republican nominating commitee has the final say. I think I know what their decision would be. Even if he got elected do you really think the powers that be would even let him literally see the light of day? Of course as always it will end up being a   lone nutjob that the public will buy every word of it being.

He is also a little too long in the tooth. Voters like younger, vibrant, charismatic candidates. Paul is not young nor vibrant.

Ron Paul - 50%, Barack Obama -50% in latest Harris poll: 7-26-11

Harris Poll: If Ron Paul Won GOP Nomination, He Would Split Vote With Obama Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), an official candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has performed well in several polls throughout his campaign. In may, Paul took second place in a CNN/WMUR poll of likely Republican voters. In June, Paul won a Republican Leadership Conference straw poll. At the beginning of July, Paul came in first in a Texas GOP poll, conducted by the Azimuth Research Group.

Splitting the vote doesn't mean much. If BHO has a slight lead in NY, Ca, MI, Pa, and a few other high pop states, that's what matters.

Well, I'm surprised people have time to take polls what with all those "shovel ready" jobs that were promised 2 years ago
