Nice job Bucs FO. We couldn't offer THAT?

The better question is: why would we?

Get out get out get OUTTTTTt. A shutdown corner for $12M when we have $60M to spend at the start? COME ON!

Maybe, just maybe, we didn't offer because he doesn't fit what our GM says we are trying to do, regardless of what any couch GM thinks.

Or maybe Dom did talk to him and he said "don't bother-only interested in SB contenders this year"

Thank you, when next year Talib could be in jail and Ronde who could be golfing this time next year. Also you have 60 mill to spend and youre only signings are overpaying your own players and giving 19 million for a punter?..

Were going score touchdowns

Exactly. Nnamdi knows he's only got a few years of elite play left. We won't be serious contenders for at least two more years, and that's optimistic.

@ClaytonESPN John Clayton
Nnamdi's decision to go to Philly wasn't a money grab. He was making $15Mil. He gets $12 M a year with $25 million guaranteed.

Of course it wasn't, because the only other two teams bidding could muster up $10-ish million.

If the Bucs wanted him, they could have gotten him, for CHEAPER than what EVERYONE expected.

Could have, if they truly wanted him....

I think your missing the point.  It wasn't about the money.  Namdi wanted to go to a team that was competing for a Super Bowl.  The Bucs are an up and coming team but any Superbowl dreams are a couple years away.

Look at John Claytons tweet:

The Bucs were NEVER in it, I'm not missing anything. From the reports we have, we never even really tried.

He wants to be in a big market and get lots of TV time, and further his future acting career.  That's not going to happen here.  Throwing money at him wasn't going to solve that issue.  Calm down people.

This. If we made him an offer of 12 million or more I'd have absolutely no complaints. It's the fact that we didn't try at all that pisses me off, because if we did, who knows? Asomugha might not have viewed us as immediate contenders, but he's intelligent enough to realize how incredibly young and talented we are and that we're probably only a year or two away.
