Watson could easily replace Black.

1000000% correct. Quincy Black is the furthest thing from a priority.

Maybe in the Redskin package as a hybrid pass rusher but a I prefer a healthy Black otherwise.

This isn't hypothetical either because we saw Watson play.  The funny thing is I was impressed by one of Black's goal line stands only to see a repeat weeks later until I realized it was Watson and not Black.   Watson and Hayes both have shown to be far more better blitzers than the overrated Black, and both are surprisingly fit like Black, but younger.

If I was Dom, I would ignore all three Bucs UFA LB's and let the young guys compete for 6-7 spots.

I love the news. Black is one of our core players on D and he was playing good ball last year up until he got injured. I don't really think Watson is ready to step in for him yet.

One of our most consistent LBers.

He is not the pass rusher Morris makes him out to be, but is solid in the other aspects of his game.

^This.  Black is not going to command a contract where they're forced to play him.

Maybe Watson overtakes Black in a year or so.  But its not worth the possible immediate drop in play, especially when Black is only 27 and 4 years older than Watson.

Yeah I like that we are going to bring back Black, but honestly I was kind of hoping he walked so we could play Watson who did just fine when he replaced him last year. I really like Watson. But if we bring Black back I won't be upset.
So can Watson play WLB? Cause I really want him on the field.

Watson will definetely see the field in hybrid pass rusher formations in place of Black.

I think Black is just hitting his stride and it is good to see him return.  It took him some time to learn the position and make the huge jump from New Mexico to the Pros but he played pretty well last year and if we are gonna let Rudd walk, then I think we needed to keep Black so we have some experience lining up on both sides of either Foster or McKenzie

Black is not spectacular, but he is consistent. He hasn't made a lot of big time game changing plays, but he is solid and dependable. With Geno Hayes being completely inconsistent, and our MLB being a rookie or 2nd year guy....I think Black can be that dependable rock we need. He also was having his best year last year before the injury and has the potential to break out.

I couldn't be happier that we are signing Black and not Ruud.

I think its good to resign him as well. I like Black, McKenzie, Foster as our LBs.
