Way too much for an average LB. Glad we kept him, but not liking the price. Ugh.

Keeping a solid experienced LB behind a better D-line....your right. It should do those things.

Why so down on Black around here? From now on we can expect so called average player salaries to continue to rise league wide.
Going into year 5 and our QB is still stuck in his rookie learning curve!!!

Maybe so but the guy has IMO barely played at an NFL average level. It is hard to imagine him garnering much interest but I could be wrong.

$6M a year does seem like a but much for his production, but I'll trust Dom and Rah. I think they know what they are doing and who they want around.

The way his contract is done, he'll provide dependability and security for 2011 and 2012 while our LB corps is going through transition, but if he isn't living up to expectations, we can cut him in 2013 with no penalty since he'll already have all his guaranteed money. Good sign imo.
