Rudd sucked at stopping the run. The guy replacing him wont be on the field on 3rd and long. I think the big indicator will be how the run d does

Great question, and I figured it out.  Last year our Pass Defense was top 10.  Our run defense was almost last in the league.  Based on those stats, What part will get better and what may get worse this year?

JDog wants to brag how hes right that our pass defense got worse this year.   because it will be hard to improve our pass defense from last year.  BUT

The Bucs run defense will easily get better this year  and would be hard pressed to be worse so only an idiot would predict our run defense will get worse this year.

Because pass d was Ruud's strength.    If you replace Ruud, you need to look at how much your pass d suffers because he was greatly contributing to that - regardless of what some people want to believe.

I dont think it suffers that much. Ruud was good at pass d but its not like he was one of the best in the game at it. He can be replaced in that regard for sure. It was his run d that really needed to be replaced though.

I still think in the long run we will be fine without him.

I agree.   They will be fine without Freeman in the long run too.    All players get replaced.   But in the short run, this is a weaker team without Ruud.

Thats still up for debate but we will find out soon.

Even Ruuds pass coverage started to decline last year. He wasn't the same LB in pass coverage last year as he was the recent years. I can remember him getting burnt left to right.
