30% against scrubs is pretty impressive.

I rather the team keep Carpenter as the backup and develop another QB as a third stringer.  It would be prudent to bring in a young guy to be third stringer, and catch up with the offense throughout the year.

At least he was trying to connect on some long balls. Heck, Freeman only went 50% with just dunks and dinks.

I'm all for trading him for a pick if we can get it.   Rudy can back up and we can develop Crompton or raid someone's PS for a #3.

Freeman never had more than a second in the pocket.

Did you even watch the game? Johnson played much better than his stat line indicates.

If you are gonna judge our players from tonight's performance we would need to cut everyone and start over. JJ looked bad tonight....but so did the entire roster.

I would prefer the team raids a teams PS for a #3 project as Crompton is rather meh as a #3 in my opinion.

Disagree.  He was bailed out by some outstanding catches.

I don't think JJ is a good fit for the Bucs current offense, but he is serviceable for now.

He also was being pressured every single play and had to escape the pocket almost every play....just saying

JJ does two things well:
Run
Throw the ball when given egregious amounts of time

He doesn't read the field well, he doesn't throw in rhythm and his ball placement is always iffy if a guy isn't a stationary target. He's a good enough backup and there's a reason he's a backup - like all backups he's not good enough to be a starter.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

Nah...keep Koenen.

Seriously, it'll be interesting to see if we rebound from this next week. It's preseason, but I don't feel comfortable looking this bad in preseason.

50% against a below average defense is pretty bad too, but I'm pretty sure Freeman is still a starter.

Terrible thread.
