no, we definately wouldnt beat those alabama teams. we might have given them a game, but ultimately we lose by about 14 or so. i was just presenting the fact that we did indeed beat a nick saban coached team. i have no doubts that alabama would kick our teeth in right now. we might keep the score down around 24 but i doubt wed score more than 10 at best. their defense is just too good

Nice win this weekend.  the defense is really looking strong. Finally forced a few turnovers this week.  Offensively, it seems like EJ is finding his groove.  I also like they we are getting Jermaine Thomas more involved.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is our best RB and has been for the past couple years yet he can't seem to stay out of Jimbo's dog house. 

The opportunity is still there to finish the year strong and set the tone for next year.

 What were you goals going into the year?  We were overrated going into the year and I think that contributes to the let down of some fans.  We were never a contender this year.  My goals for this year: Win the ACC, win a BCS Bowl game, State title, 10 wins.  Yes, the primary goals  were dashed early but that doesnt mean we should mail in the season.  We can still accomplish some things and set the tone for next year.  The opportunity is still there to beat UM and UF again and win another state title(big for recruiting) not to mention possibly winning 9-10 games this year.  Given the crap we had to endure at the end of Bobby's career, you'd turn up your nose at 19 or 20 wins from Jimbo's first 2 years on the job?  I'm telling you, you'll have a much better taste in your mouth about this season if we finish the year strong. Break the losses down, there is no shame in losing tight games to Oklahoma and Clemson with how good those teams are.  Our only bad loss was Wake.  That really sucked and I thought we badly mismanaged the QB situation but there isnt anything we can do about that now.  As you said, we should be favored the rest of the way so lets TCB and finish the year with a bang. 

At the end of the day, I still like the overall state of our program compared to UM or UF when you evaluate how  each of the big three:
- finished last year
-what they've done this year so far and
-their potential for next year considering what players are leaving and returning (not too mention sanctions).

my goals were the same, win the ACC and win the Orange bowl. both were easily attainable.

i didnt mind the loss to oklahoma. i went into that game hoping wed cut the score by half and stay within a score or two. we did and acutally had them on the ropes til the last couple of minutes. it was a moral victory of sorts.

losing to clemson sucked. especially at the time. looking back on it now it doesnt look that bad when you weigh in that we were missing olinemen, our starting qb,
and most of our wrs and clemson is playing well on offense.  plus we penaltied ourselves right out of the game.

the wake loss was absolutely awful and unforgiveable. we had a bye week and lost that game to a vastly inferior team. we came out flat, unmotivated, and hungover. once again we couldnt run the ball, couldnt stop turning it over, and couldnt stop getting penalties. all of those are fixable and are coaching/discipline errors.

now it looks like maybe the team woke up and decided to buckle down. its too bad it took three consecutive losses to do it. id be much less dissappointed if wed smashed wake like we were supposed to and only lost to clemson and oklahoma. going forward i want to finish the year strong. if we dont beat miami and florida i will be greatly dissappointed. this team needs to realize that the goal here is to beat your rivals at this point. goal number one went out the window in week 4. the only goal left is to beat up your rivals and kick them when theyre down and assert dominance, granted both teams arent playing well, but you have to take advantage of every opportunity.

wow.  that was the worst officiated game I've seen in a long time.  i know its nitpicky but the main reason that game came down to an onsides kick was blown calls.  how was the opening play (Joyner scoop and score)reversed? someone explain that to me. i wanted to put my fist through the tv after Bradham was ejected. You can't teach it any better then that. For the love of god, are defenders allowed to play physical anymore?  At least we overcame the refs and some major bone head roughing 15 yard penalties(I'm looking at you Jernigan).

bad calls on both sides.  I really thought that Hurricane scored on that last pass play, awesome effort.  Was really upset about the "launching call", but I think it also nullified a nifty interception as well, although nobody seemed to pick up on the fact that an FSU player appeared to save the ball from hitting the ground.  The roughing the passer calls are legit, our guys got undisciplined.

no doubt DU.  No excuses for all the 15 yard penalties and bonehead plays.  That is the thing that I dont like about this series is all the extra stuff after the whistle.  Reid/Joyner flirt with getting flagged for taunting nearly every play.  It just really burns me that we were up a couple scores throughout the 2nd half and we had to hang on at the end.  I thought we were robbed out of 2 tds(Joyner early and Williams and the KO) and Bradham's penalty/ejection on an INT play that would have iced the game was OUTRAGEOUS.

im happy we won but that shouldnt have been close. that is the same referee crew that screwed up at the end of the 09 miami game and the ones who blew a million calls when we played clemson this year. im not saying they are trying to fix games but its fishy we get alot of garbage calls and nocalls with the same crew .where do i begin with the bad calls.

1. the first play was a catch and fumble. it shouldnt take 6 mins to check a confirmed rule on the field. at that point you are looking for a reason to overturn and thats what they did. absolute garbage.
2. the "safetey". how incompetent do you have to be on that one. thank god it finally got rversed.
3. the penalty on bradham. shouldnt have been a penalty once you see it on replay. i understand the call at the time. the ejection was an absolute joke and unconscionable. ive seen members of every fanbase in football including canes fans say that there was no cause for the flag and definately none for an ejection.
4. the tons of missed holds
5. the play where their TE almost got into the endzone. you have to have 7 players lined up on the line of scrimmage, they had 5. should have been an illegal formation. dont know how you miss that.

the acc has got to do something about the refereeing in our conference. it is absolutely the worst. these guys need to be fired. none of the officials can see, nor do they know the rules. our refs are a total joke

Worst officiated game I have seen in my lifetime, and not only that but the time it took them to figure it out completely destroyed any enjoyment of the game.

Worst MIAMI VS FSU game I have ever viewed. 

Seriously if that is how a football game is supposed to be officiated, they need to ban all football games forever, and just make up some cartoon football show with a disclaimer that the violence shown on the hits are make believe but may be inappropriate to watch!

I actually believe they will be SEC officials for the game against Florida and that means it should be a great game to watch.   Think after gator fans cried over their "SWINDLE IN THE SWAMP" the decision was made to use only SEC officials at Benny Hill.
