Has a 5.1 ypc average.

Has 27 receptions for 319 yards receiving.

Has 8 TDs. (4th in the NFL)

Has 12 plays for 20+ yards. (2nd in the NFL)

Has 7 plays for 40+ yards. (1st in the NFL)

Has a total of 1319 yards from scrimmage. (1st in the NFL)

Everyone knows the QB has a huge advantage for RoY awards, but Luck and RG3 better look out. If Doug can keep this pace for the rest of the season, I really can't imagine him not winning the RoY honors. Haven't seen a rookie running back come in and have this kind of impact since Adrian Peterson.

Compare those #s to Carnell's rookie year and it confirms what i've said for years.... Carnell benefited from a craptastic rookie class. Martin is the real deal.... so glad he's a Buc!!

Without a doubt.    It was an unfortunate year to be picking so high.    The Bucs have picked high a lot, but rarely been lucky to pick high during a year when that high pick was a year with a draft class deserving of that high pick.    They were only lucky with high picks three times.    Lee Roy Selmon, Hugh Green, Warren Sapp.

I guess I owe Dominik, Hickey and Schiano an apology. I was one of those fans that wanted Richardson, Kuchely or Claibourne.

ANyone see Doug Martin knock Kuchley on his ass early in the game. Dougie bowled him over and went for 8 yards on that hit. Kuchley looks very Ruddish IMO.

JDub...I agree with you....Martin should be getting very serious consideration for ROY.  Unfortunately, because of the media hard on for Luck & Griffin, it's going to be incredibly difficult for him to beat them out.   I think his best chance is to keep up at his current pace AND have the Bucs make the playoffs while the Colts and Skins stay home...that might be persuasive.

It's always difficult for any rookie to beat out a rookie QB that does well. Having RG3 and Luck both doing well makes it doubly hard. However, Martin isn't just doing well. He is breaking records and setting standards. He is having one of the best rookie seasons ever. He's already broken several records and is in the company of all time greats like Eric **CENSORED**erson, Barry Sanders, and Adrian Peterson. If he keeps up his current pace, his rookie season will rank top 3 of all time for any running back ever. If that happens, I can't imagine either QB winning it over Doug.  They both look very promising and are having great rookie seasons, but Doug is on pace for a truly epic rookie season. He's got to finish strong though.
