How many years are you going to keep bumping this thread? You can pat yourself on the back...you did good, now time to move on.
1) Its a thread for our star running back
2) even if he's bumping his own thread, he has plenty of reason to bump it
3) it's not a troll thread and he's not a troll, so why do you care?

I swear, were fans of the same players and the same team, but there's so much unnecessary hostility.

For anyone interested (as I was)

NFL Yards From Scrimmage Leaders:

1)Adrian Peterson      2113
2)Calvin Johnson       1892
3)Doug Martin             1766

I hope hes like Ronde and will stay with us for the long run and the Bucs will be the only team he plays for. If he matures in pass blocking he will be one of the best all-around backs in the NFL for the future.

Incredible company. Did not expect us to have a player an offensive player mentioned among those 2. With Nicks and Joseph coming back next year its realistic to expect another great season for Martin next year. hopefully more consistent.

Only 1 of those guys didn't make the pro bowl , in case you are wondering.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

Good stuff!

When's the last time we had a player on offense that could be considered elite?

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Fran Tarkenton, Hall of Fame QB said. \\\"Ive watched Freeman a lot. He just plays God-awful. Thats who you are. Its just a player being able to play or not play. Josh Freeman has proven to me that he cant play.\\\"

Dougie is the least of this teams problems.  I could see them drafting 7 defensive players in the draft.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

I agree defense is a huge need, but I think we are more likely to make strides defensively in Free Agency, than we are offensively. I'll be surprised if we don't pick up a DT and CB before the draft....which should even things out a little bit. As good as Doug is, it is clear that Blount is not part of our future. So we need to draft a solid #2 RB. We also need a TE and some offensive line depth. Not to mention a real slot receiver.

TE and OL depth are things I see being drafted as early as round 3

JDub.  Thanks for clips on Dougie.  I love the play where he puts his head down and takes 3 defenders with him for another 5 yard or so gain.    Reminds me of Alstott.  Dougie's problems when they appear are usually due to the predicability of the play calling.  No one is mislead when he's on the field.  That includes the misuse of Blount, IMHO.  And the lack of a viable blocking RB at the #2 and #3 spot.  Also, the entire team's positive results earlier in the season reflect the league's ability to adjust to stopping whatever works for a team and the lack of NFL experience and/or sophisticated for fresh strategies in the second half of the season.  We cannot continue to run ANY RB for as many plays as we ran Dougies last season....with the exception of Adrian Peterson who plays with a huge angry chip.  Man, you can see it in his eyes...whew.
Very happy to have Dougies tho and I hope he has a great year in 2013.
