Despite losing Grimm and Biggers struggling.....we held the Falcons to 13 points. Kinda funny considering the Eagles "Dream team" secondary that is making like $60M this season allowed 35 points last week to these same Falcons.

The same "Dream team" allowed Eli to throw 4 TDs this week, two of the TDs and 110 yards were to unknown preseason star Victor Cruz.

Everyone still think giving Aso $20M a year is a good idea?

Biggers is what he is. Hes not the guy you want covering White but he actually made some plays that some forget about. He forced the interception by Barber at the end of the half. He also made a nice play in the end zone covering White. I thought he did alright considering he had to cover one of the best recievers in the game.

That pass breakup in the end zone in the fourth quarter was huge. Good post, definitely agree.

Biggers is what he always has been since being drafted by the Bucs, an average to good DB that has trouble making plays on the ball...He almost always seems to be in good position, but he has trouble getting his hands on the ball to swat or catch it...If he can somehow improve that part of his game he'll be a very good corner in this league.

Roddy was just beating him to the ball. Ryan was getting pressured so hard he resorted to stylings of Michigain QB Denard Robinson and just blindly threw the ball up (see Mich. vs. ND game) to his direction and Roddy would jump and beat Biggers to the ball every time almost. White is a beast and I think Biggers step up when he knew he had to.

On many of the 4th quarter completions, Biggers was on the ground like 3ft away. Not sure what was going on but I'll assume White was just too physical for him.

A couple of bad points you are making, here:

1.  Most people knew Aso wouldn't get $20M a year - which he didn't.  In reality, he's averaging $12M per year - which is a steal for his services.
2.  Aso played an excellent game vs. the Falcons.  He was targeted 4 times, only allowing 1 reception for 14 yards with 1 PD and 1 Int.

Now about Biggers, I have a feeling the vast majority of #3 CB's in the NFL would struggle covering Roddy White M2M most of the day.

Just think, if Talib is found guilty of anything really and Barber retires (probably 50/50 chance) Biggers is our new #1 CB.

aso was directly responsibly for 2 huge TD's yesterday.  but he's still great.  biggers got roasted on a lot yesterday.  but he's still young and improving.  i dont think its crazy that biggers was schooled by calvin johnson and roddy white...nor do most sensible fans.  some just want to make every decision a jerk reaction.

what if the packers had given up on tramon williams 5 years ago?

I only saw the 28 yarder to Victor Cruz.  Where and when was the other one?

blatant mistackle/whiff about 60 yards before he scored.

it goes without saying that Joseph/Aso would have been a drastic upgrade.

they would have been an upgrade...but at the same time brees just threw for 400 yards against the joseph led texans and aso was beaten multiple times by some guy named victor.

Football is a team sport...calling out 1 piece of the secondary (or defense) seems a bit silly, don't you think?

Biggers was a gaping hole in the defense yesterday...where Joseph/Aso would not have been.

Ah, you're talking about a MT.  Gotcha.

Although the overall point still sucks.  Aso had a bad game yesterday, all great players have them.  I believe even Brady had 4 interceptions yesterday.  Those games are the exception to their rule of superb play.

Biggers will be fine. He wasn't even really "roasted all day"...there was a little stretch late in the game where they went after him several times in a small time frame. Roddy White beat him, plain and simple. I think Biggers' biggest problem(besides his lack of physical strength) is that he doesn't really have an aggressive mentality. He isn't a ballhawk, and he plays really soft in zone coverage and gets turned around easily. But put him in man coverage, and he'll stick on his guy all the way down the field....I honestly think he's our best man-to-man corner....he's excellent on downfield routes along the sideline especially. Guys like Roddy White are gonna make plays on any corner because he runs sharp routes and has amazing chemistry with his QB.

Now talking about EJ's ability to take on blocks and make plays in the run game....he's really really weak there. You'd figure that watching Ronde would help out with that, but it isn't so far.

Biggs, the Eagles have given up 8 passing TDs in 3 games. (Bradford, Ryan, E. Manning) That's the most by any team in the NFL. Did Aso make them better? Was that $12M a year well spent?

Our secondary has allowed just 4 passing TDs. (Stafford, McNabb, Ryan) Just sayin.
