It's a huge loss simply because we use the two TE set a lot and now we only have Winslow and some unknown rookie FA.

Stocker's blocking is overrated.

How is it silly? looks like a sentence full of facts to me. I'm not saying he's a bust. Hopefully he ends up being great, but so far he hasn't been.

Hes by far the best blocking TE on the roster and all of his drops but one werent well placed balls. Id expect a more athletic WR or a Winslow type to make those catches, but not a guy like Stocker. He was projected to have to work on his recieving skills from the get go and was considered more of a blocker with potential to develope into a good recieving TE.

about 15% of all 4th round picks ever become starters. Having a good blocking #2 TE for 2 4ths is not a good investment because hes missed all of 0 regular season games?

that is silly.

So who is the active #2 TE now? Pianalto?

Don't know what Pianalto's deal is, but Colin Franklin is the TE that played behind Stocker in the Indy game.

Stocker is promising, he gets open a lot and has above average blocking. Once he works on his hands he really could be a good #1 TE.

Situationally we can play Lorig and Larsen at TE as well.

I guess that just means less 2 TE sets...which means Parker and Lorig will get more snaps. Pianalto(sp?) was the other TE we signed and he's just as huge as Stocker, and is supposed to be a good run blocker...so we may not end up missing Stocker too much.

Maybe I am a little biased against Stocker. It just bothers me that the last two drafts have been full of great TEs and we have passed on them all...but then we waste a 4th to move up 12 spots in the 4th for Stocker, who I do actually like, and I think he was worth a 4th, but not two. Now we have no 4th round pick this year and will likely miss out on another good player. I just think it was a waste. Kinda like moving up for Arrelious Benn was a waste in 2010. In both cases the player would have likely been there if we stayed put, and in both cases there were other players on the board at the same position that were just as good. Julius Thomas was still there for example....

Even if I block out all that bias, it has not been a good start for Stocker anyway you cut it. The go ahead TD he dropped in the Lions game bothers me a lot, but the hip and knee injuries bother me more. People hope he is a Jason Witten type player, but I just don't see it. Time will tell. Hope he gets well soon cause his absence will hurt our running game.

He's not gonna be a Witten...more like a Ken Dilger.

I thought he played well when he was actually out there. Made some decent runs after a few catches, got open, and blocks well. Better than you'll get out of a lot of 4th round rookies.

Thats too bad. I like what I've seen out of him, for the most part.

I know Pinalto was injured last season and that was a reason he slipped in the draft, maybe his injuries are still lingering. I think he can be special if he can get back to 100%. I was really excited about getting him.

Kind of wish we had gotten Rob  Gronkowski in the 2nd over Benn tbh. That guy is going to be a stud for a very long time.

How about Ed **CENSORED**son, Jimmy Graham, or Aaron Hernandez in the 3rd round of 2010 instead of Myron Lewis?

Or Andrew Quarless in the 5th of 2010? Oh, we traded that 5th to move up a few spots for Benn when it was totally uncalled for....

Or Dorin **CENSORED**erson in the 7th of 2010?

Or Julius Thomas in the 4th, DJ Williams in the 5th, or Virgil Green in the 7th of 2011?

Or Weslye Saunders as an undrafted free agent?
